i am beginning to wonder if everything in the electrical system is dependent on everything else, like its all run in series and it all has to be there to complete the circuit

So my iridium plug came in today, it really does make a big difference, smoother acceleration, deceleration, and easier starting

A lot of people really like those. You might even notice a slight increase in miles per gallon.

That would be awesome, I get great mileage right now but more is always better

Ok, ready to start the new year off with some new issues, it started with the scoot developing a hesitation at all rpm ranges from idle to WOT, then added a strange noise that i couldn't locate, that went away but now there is a horrible noise coming from the primary cover that only goes away when I hold the kick starter about half way down, the variator was recently replaced as well as a new fuel filter 2 days ago, and a full rebuild of the carb like 2 months ago and a new choke, anyone have any ideas on the hesitation?........ i forgot to mention that the kick start return spring was replaced at the same time the variator was

if the nose is dealt with when you paly with the kick start pull the trans cover off and see what is going on in there if you had work done to the varatior that would be my suspect area maybe they didn't put the nut on tight enough or something got put on out of order

the noise in the cover was due to the mount for the kick start idler gear was broken, so i have to go get another cover today hopefully. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be something holding the starter bendix in place? it seems odd that it would just be sat in there, and it rattles itself out of place making the scoot impossible to start since i had to remove all the kick start stuff until i can get a new cover

There's a bushing pressed into the CVT cover that holds the benedrix in place, it will not stay in place with the cover removed...

new cover installed, i saw the bushing you were talking about for the bendix, the one on the old cover was all goobered up, the hesitation and dying out was caused by the new electric choke i installed, somehow the yellow wire became disengaged from the plug, re-soldered and now it works great, the only problem i am having now is the piece on the the variator that the kickstart idler gear attaches to is a little chewed up from where it was rubbing when the old case broke, 1. does anyone know what that piece is called? 2. where to find a new one?

So since the last time I posted the new case I installed broke in the same place as the last one did...... so I went ahead and removed all the kickstarting elements and am now using just the electric starter, the only problem with that is my battery still doesn't receive a charge from the scoot so I am stuck bringing the battery in every night to charge so i can start it. I am thinking that my rectifier is shot but I don't know for sure

You still have to have an electrical problem or generating problem.
These kick starts really are not made for primary use, really they are for back up.
IMO it is time to start over, recheck all the wiring, the regulator , grounds everything.
