Are you lights all standard? These little 50cc scooters have a small margin of error when it comes to how much power they can keep up with for draining the battery of its juice. If you are discharging the battery after running it for and hour and a half and have an upgraded headlight or installed something else electrical, you may just be asking more than the system can handle. Regarding the oil, sorry, i thought we made it fairly clear, use the oil you want to, change it often. I do use a car oil in mine. ^^^^^^ 10w-30, 10w-40, 15w-40 all seems to work fine. If it gets real cold, where you live, you might consider 5w. At one time I was running 15w-40 Shell Rotella oil in every 4 cycle motor I had. Tractor, Cars, Trucks, Motorcycle, ATV, Scooters never hurt a thing. Rotella is probably one of the best crankcase oils there is. RD

rotella is great for air cooled engines when we still had a rig with an air cooled deutz trubo disel it lasted at least twice as many hours as other oils before it started to burn the oil off

I think the stock one is usually 25 watts. I think you just found the battery problem.
These scooters are not known for bright headlights. I know that the 150 scooters normally have the 25 watt bulbs, but they also have two headlights most of the time. The one headlight systems I'm not positive about.
I suggest going to a 25 watt quartz halogen light, but then you have to vent it so it does not melt your plastic headlight reflector.

Watch that the 55 watt doesn't melt the plastic. Those little scooter usually have a 35watt max. I have seen 18w, 25w, and 35w bulbs come from the factories.

wow those are a little more than i was wanting to spend right now but for sure a maybe, Another odd problem with the scoot, i have been trying to get my idle set right so in turn sometimes it wont idle by itself on test runs, and on those occasions when i come to a stop i have to give it some gas to keep it running, and when i go to take off it feels like it is stuck and then i hear a click come from the back somewhere and then it will go, now it doesnt happen every time just like once every four or five times..... any ideas?

But that wouldn't explain the clicking/popping noise that I am hearing

I'm not there to hear the clicking and popping but if it is being heard when the bike is sitting and not running, I'm pretty sure it is the exhaust system cooling down. If it is that, then you really do need to fix that intake leak because it is probably running to hot due to a messed up air fuel mixture with a cracked intake allowing more air in. That situation will burn your valves.

it only happens when running, and only at take off, and only sometimes
