Hmm, no battery? go down to walmart and get something to put in there. Is it re-wired to run off no battery?

yeah running without a battery isn't good for your ele system unless you put something in there you can actually fry your regulator/rectifier and you will have all sorts of power surge for your ele components

well if you have a bike that runs a full dc system like the kymcos it could be your probelm as it doens tmake engouh juice to run everything right till it hits higher rpms
but if its like most of the other gy6 out there you have a seprate coil for charging one for the lighting and one for the cdi

UPDATE: I found some cracks on the intake manifold rubber, I sealed it up with some super black rtv it seems to idle much better now but I haven't had a chance to test it yet as I now have a flat tire

I think that as long as a battery is in there it would be OK even if it is dead, not positive if it has a short in it so that a circuit is not completed it may still cause problems.
Vacuum leaks can be a big problem, go ahead and replace the broken manifold, the sealer you used won't be a permanent fix.

I wasnt expecting a permanent fix more like a trouble shooting thing

Well I decided to just bite the bullet and I called a local mobile scooter mechanic to come and fix it, frankly I'm tired of for@#&$ with it

No calls or anything? I'd look for somebody else or get back to tinkering with it.

well i had my friend take it apart today since i don't have an impact gun, and it turns out that the variator was completely shot, all the weights were chewed up and the housing itself was in pretty bad shape as well, slapped a new one in and its all fixed now
