While surfing the "net" Thu morning, I came across this for $999.99. They had 6 available. I checked a couple of hours later and they had 3 available. Mine will be delivered Mon afternoon. So when and where is the next Scooterholics Anonymous meeting? They had a red one but someone beat me to it. And there are threads on SD and Scootdawg on this model (M3) and the Storm 250. The storm is reported to have cooling issues but I couldn't find anything on the M3. Now I gotta find one of those Puig 992 windshields.

That's a great looking scooter. How about filling us in on where you bought it from. Personally I think it is a better looking scooter than the Storm 250. here is an auction site that has a couple of the Storm 250's being auction, at the time I posted this they were both under $150.00 and one auction is over on the 21st, the other is over on the 23rd I think. they are located in Pennsylvania. www.liquidation.com/auction/search?category1=1074

That looks to be a 244 in a 150 frame. Now that will be a wicked ride. And for 999 it's a steal. Well done.

Those are held at my house every other Thursday. We drink beer and install BBK,

Got it here, they are also on e-bay. Blue M3 250ccAll the M3s are sold but they have 15 Chrome Storm 250s @ $999. I figure the engine and wheels alone are worth what I paid. To my understanding the Storm has 2 small (poorly placed) radiators while the M3 has the normal radiator for the 244cc. Yes, a 244cc clone, 13 inch wheels and disk brakes front and rear and it makes the Storm look kinda clunky - if you know what I mean. All that potential at that price - I just had to take a chance. I'll keep y'all posted when it arrives and I do a PDI.

Wow Phil, your going to have a stable full of scoots aren't ya? I agree, with a price like that it's hard to refuse, let me know what you think when you get it. I just might have to pull the trigger on one myself! Gary

The scooter arrived today. Poor packaging (honeycomb cardboard and shrinkwrap strapped to a pallet. A few scrapes and scratches and bird droppings, left front turn signal is broken off but looks like an easy fix. Color is more purple than blue, halogen headlights, dc CDI all electrics work off of battery (good for leds), tiny battery, dual radiators with (too) small fans, alarm/remote start (who the hell needs a remote start on a scooter ). So far I see (in addition to PDI) flushing radiator and replacing all hoses/clamps, adding some computer fans, repairing some plastic, and LEDs all around. I may try to modify the battery compartment to hold a larger battery Oh and paint those godawful fake carbon fiber pieces. That's it for a quick look-over. Given the price and circumstances, I'm not disappointed (not ecstatic either). Manufacturer is Zehjiang Lingyun MC Co which is supposed to be Diamo scooters. P.S. I know, I know.....PICTURES (coming soon)

Too bad it's a bit shabby, but for the price <shrug>. And it's been passed around I bet. The good news is you have a very interesting project to work on. Paint it red.

Computer fans! I have roughly a 4 x 4 area of the radiator open and that's the first thing that came to mind but I do recall "SOMEONE" mentioning them. The radiator in front of the engine is rough 5 x 10 but there is some room for a slightly larger one. I reckon I'll be finding out soon. Paint it red! Get outa my head man ;D ;D P.S. If all else fails, it wouldn't be too difficult to fit that engine on the Carino. Eeeeeehaaaah!

Sounds good and bad, but as you said, for the price you probably can't go wrong. I bet and old heater core from and early model Chevy would work great as a radiator, they are flat, not too big and could easily be modified to fit your scoot. Too bad about the broken parts, maybe they will replace those parts under warranty? Keep us posted and by all means, show some pics!

Gary Exactly the kind of thing I'd look into. Fans might help, but the more things you put in there to cool it down, the more things that can go bad and cause problems. Replacing the standard radiator with a bigger one is just making the system better not adding complications to it.

Primary mission was a sport size scooter with a 250 engine. For some unknown reason I like the cfmoto clone over the Linhai clone. 13" wheels/disk brakes are just icing on the cake. Warranty: 30 days on engine/drive train - even then all they could do is pull the part off one of the remaining Storms. I have the pieces and can patch it up. Be a good excuse to paint that sucker RED. Heater core: Good idea - I'll know better once I strip the plastic off and see what space I have to work with. Rebel, I agree simple is better - easier to troubleshoot too.

I squeezed in a little time Wed AM to start stripping the scooter down. I swear this scooter is purple, don't know why it comes out blue. Between work and unseasonably high temps I don't have much time now. I'm new to this web album thing so if this link doesn't work let me know. I'll post an update as I add photos. Diamo M3
