Cool ya made one ;D. My scooter was running the same way when it got above 80 something and humid yesterday, and the day before. It was snappy on the low end like usual but if i rode at 3/4 throttle for a while then dumped it open the motor would bog out like it had to much air. I did the same thing you did with my needle and clip, ran better on the rich side but was way to cold blooded and seemed a tad to rich. I ended up taping off some of my air filter, that seemed to solve the some of the problem. I also put a new fuel filter on. My tank seems to be dirty because it was only a couple months old and looking bad. I havent rode it yet since the filter change Hope you get it ironed out soon. Nice bottle

The plug looks normal. I held the stock airbox over the carb's mount and it would rev up quickly as it should, took it off and bog, repeated with the same results. I don't wanna have to constantly rejet this thing. The stock airbox won't fit right. It's too small to fit over the mouth just right. The big carb sitcks out farther so the moutning locations for the airbox are way off, and it's too heavy to just hang. It would also get in the way of my feet with my peg location.
Motoforce makes an aftermarket "airbox" but I dunno if it would do anything for me. I'm really thinking about scrapping the idea of a 103cc engine and building my other back to a mild 70cc that cruises around 50MPH, and is virtually hassle free. The only reason I haven't done that yet is that I have a 45mm stroker crank sitting around and I'd hate to let that go to waste. I need a thrid 2 stroke scoot.

I ended up swapping from a 70 to a 72 pilot jet and adjusting the idle. Instead of adjusting the mixture to get the highest RPM as usual, I adjusted the mixture to be almost as fat as it could stand and then upping the idle. It barely bogs no matter how fast I twist the throttle now. I could make the bog disappear, but then it wants to die out at idle and it's really sluggis till 1/4 throttle.

Good idea, i wouldnt have thought to richen it way up on the idle end would help but ya never know , i will try that tomorrow and see if that helps. Mine did run better today, i only had a bog once and it was kinda like a four barrel Qjet on a 305 lol. I was cruising along about 40 then twisted it WOT real quick it bogged for a split second then took off. Have you tried taping off some of your filter? I use aluminum tape for furnace duct, it sticks pretty good and is easy to tear some off until you find your sweet spot. These things idle so much better with a boost bottle dont they?

You really think you would be better off with a 70cc? Is it that bad to tune? Let me take er for a spin lol you need a second opinion....But you are talking about a 100cc and a 70cc right.?. In that case im with ya, just sell me that crank wasten space over there and we will both be happy. j/k, i need another scoot too!

I rode it around town for a couple hours tonight with lots of stop and go. I really like the boost bottle now. It's very obvious that it works around town. No problems with the tune tonight. Tomorrow it may be different. My idle is back to a normal idle, but I don't think it would like my settings if not for the boost bottle.
And yeah, I mean keep this and make the other a 70. It'll prob still end up a 103cc though.

My scoot has been sluggish and I started hearing an exhaust leak. I found that the head of the M6 bolt holding the header on was snapped off. I use threadlocker and lock washers, so of course it just snaps the bolt head off. I pulled it out with vice grips and replaced it. No more exhaust leak, but it's still sluggish. I have a CVT cover bearing going bad so I ordered that and wheel bearings. I didn't wanna pay $13 shipping for $14 in bearings so I ordered a 1500RPM torque spring, MRP 107mm clutch, and a 107mm clutch bell. I wanted a Naraku 112mm clutch and bell, but I got all of this for less than the Naraku stuff alone. On a related note, I think I know why the first MRP clutch I bought tore up so fast. I was new to scooters then and never knew there were multiple sizes for clutches on minarellis. I prob put a 105 or 107mm clutch in a 112mm bell. Never really thought about that until jsut today. I really think the sluggishness is trans related. It takes off then almost free revs then bogs a bit. It's been having mild symptoms for some time, just getting really bad now.

If ya dont mind me asking, were did you get all that stuff? It just so happens my CVT cover bearing is bad again , and i know my clutch is worn, the last time i looked at it there was barely any material left (maybe 2mm), and i have noticed allot of chattering coming from that area so i know i need something back there. Maybe its time for grade 10 exhaust bolts ;D

It's always good to get in a box of performance parts. Here is an MRP 107mm clutch, 107mm clutch bell, and 1,500ROM torque spring that arrived today. The bad news is, none of it worked. The clutch revs so high with either set of springs that it completely bypasses the torque that this thing makes and barely takes off. The 1,500RPM keeps it revved too high as well. The good news is that I found the torque driver to be sticking. That's why it was taking off then almost free revving then taking off again. I did get my CVT cover bearing replaced too, so that's not noisy now. The MRP clutch worked on my 70cc, but it kills this engine setup.I would guess the clutch didn't engage until 6-7,000RPM with the lighter springs. With the heavy springs it was maybe 7-8,000RPM.

My scoot vs a GY6 with equal weight riders.
2 stroke 2, 4 stroke 0. The rider on my scoot got to 60MPH in roughly 1/4 mile.

I wonder why the clutch didnt work for you? It shouldnt rev that high should it? Whats up with that? Dang, looking at that new clutch with them new shoes reminds me of how bad mine really is, my shoes are almost gone. What caused your torque driver to stick? Mine has been doing the free rev thing, and getting worse lately.
