And just what is it that you prefer on the Zuma front end over the Ruckus. Front disk brakes and beefier suspension. I had not even noticed the lack of a disk on that, kind of makes it a no brainer.

All the seals I ever removed had a metal body that was pressed into the case, I'm assuming that is what you have there. From the back side I always used a large screw driver and a hammer , just tapped it out resting the blade of the screw driver in the metal grove in the body of the seal. Work the screw driver around the seal as you tap on it. It might take some pounding to get it out, but as long as you are tapping on the seal and not the case it should not hurt anything.
Putting the new one back you use a pipe or very large socket set on the outer edge and tap it back down, I was told to use permatex for a sealer as I tapped the new one back in. Perhaps somebody knows more than me though.

Looks great the way it is. What color are you going to have it coated, and will the coating make it have any oil seal problems, will you have to get the mating surfaces resurfaced?

You use high temp tape to mask off the the areas you dont want coated. Its getting HD semi-gloss black.

Back from powder coat. Ready to go in the oven. On the rack. Presto! Now just need to prep the cases, install the vacuum pump inlet, port match the case, and wait for parts.

Well after spending the last 3 days cleaning old parts I am finally ready for paint. I dont have a paint booth and since its snowing out I will have to make do with what I have. I cracked the garage door about a 2 inches and used a fan to direct the fumes outside. Then I threw up some plastic sheeting to keep the over spray down. Prepped and taped. It was so cold in the shop I had to use my heater to keep the parts warm so the paint would stick. Then a knock on the door, ups. Parts here! I still have my exhaust and bearings yet to get in but this should be enough to get me started.

So Im sitting in the shop waiting for my paint to dry and started to read over the Koso RS Dyno I got for the ruck. This thing is better and easier to hook up than expected. What it does: MPH in mph or kph RPM with over rev light adjustable Fuel gauge Temp gauge with adapter to fit on the spark plug Clock It has the standard issue LCD screen with all the wizbang you would expect however it has a added bonus. POWER TEST! It records acceleration, top speed, distance timer. That way when you make change to the engine or variator you can document exactly what the improvements did! Well done Koso! Well Done! *claps hands* More parts arrived today. Metrakit Ecologic Cant imagine where the restriction could be... Tag bars Polini 9 roller speed kit The crank is in the freezer and tomorrow Ill be putting the crank bearings on and doing a little top end clean up. Then hopefully my transmission bearings will be in and I can get this thing knocked out.
