Hello, I am VERY new to this or any scooter. My first haha..
I have searched everywhere I could think of to find or at least the name of a part. Please help.. The bystarter is junk...horrible thing to start but runs and drives decent. I located a new bystarter and want to install it but I am missing the stupid thing that "holds" it into the hole that is meant for it?? I have looked it up in the service manual, parts house blow ups for the carb but etc online..Thanks bear:) No part or even the description of it. If there is anyone that can help..I would be indebted..for at least three days hahaha. Its a "threaded" collar or standoff that a nut threads onto to secure the electric bystarter into the port. A picture would be awesome, or a part # would be awesome.
A humble Thank You Bob

Bob, welcome to the forum.
Did you check the manuals I have in the help area? I'm not really up on that scooter myself. I'll go get a link to the manuals for you.

Terrilee, the bystarter or auto-bystarter is the auto choke/enricher.
OK, I have a better idea about what you want, BikeBandit may be the place to find it. I'll go take a look at their diagrams. Is it too old for Honda to carry the part?

OK They did not have a listing for a 125cc, they had a 50 and a 80 listed but no parts for them. You may be needing to look into a aftermarket carb for this scooter. We have a couple pretty sharp 2 stroke guys here that may offer a replacement for you to look at.

well unfortuantly most carb parts are discontinued for that scoot what part in this diagram do you need if i am reading you right its the part on the carb body near the number 17 are there any numbers or brand name on the carb that help identify it some times just becuase honda doesnt make the part doesnt mean that it isnt made any more take old mopeds that run bing carbs many of the manufactures dont cary the parts any more or are out of business yet you can go to bing and get most of the parts your easiest route might be an after market carb but being that honda used a bolt on carb instead of a slip on carb it may still be hard to find a good after market carb

NICE call on the ebay listing. The threaded brass collar around the bystarter, that is what Im missing. The listing had the whole thing torn down, that is exactly what I needed..whew man. I guess it must have come as part of the assembly? I dont see a way to just put that on, But that is almost identical. I have a pic of my old one, ill post it. Thanks, and I may swap carbs, I guess the vm-20 in one form it a direct bolt on?? The jets are supposed to be real close. Just tryin to geter goin for the summer:) Blow apart of the carb... cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=150738077058 BTW terrilee..Jessica Rabbit..wish Ida thought of that.
