I got my XingYue ITA 150 with 16" wheels last year, late May 2010. I rode it all summer until Nov 13. All Ive done is clean the air-filter, change the oil and replaced the fuel filter. I also installed a wicked horn.
I chose this used scooter because it had already been ridden (and maybe had all the important stuff done upon delivery) and most importantly it had a complete WI title so I wouldn't have to wait on the slow boat paperwork. And it has the 16" wheel advantage. It is stable in wind and rain and easy over rough roads.
I put about 1600 miles on to total 2900 now. April 7 was my first ride this year. It is only a 6.5 mile ride to and from work. mostly 45mph speed limits.
I know Ill change the sliders and fuel jets this season. And adjust the valves.
I would like more power so I don't need to run WOT the entire trip.
I am looking for tips and ideas on better head-lighting and power of course.

Welcome,
I think you were very smart to get a used one. Like you said, you didn't have to wait for the paperwork and you already knew that it was legal in your state, but that is not as much a problem there as it is in a couple other states.
You are the first owner of a 16 inch wheel scooter that I've heard a complaint about the top end speed. Most say they can get 60 mph on them.

thank you
I have been to 70mph - as displayed on the speedometer, but suprise suprise, it isnt accurate! 65mph indicated is about 50 real. I have a (13 or 17 function) bicycle computer that should be more acurate - since it is adjustable, but not installed yet.
I do have new sliders and pilot jet on order, along with a few other minor items. Need to stop by Honda and get a main jet. I'd like EFI instead.
The DMV wont evel let you register an old motorcycle without the previous title in hand. BOS isnt enough.
And who woudlnt like a little more power if FE and reliability are preserved?
Steve

heh I haven't ridden with anyone, idiot or otherwise, and hen I do see any other scooter, it is going the opposite direction.
Nearly all of my ride to and from work is 45mph zone. Only a couple blocks at 25 or 35mph.
One stretch has a nice steep hill going up - with a stoplight at the bottom that catches me too often. Climbing is I make the light, my speed drops from 65 (indicated) to 45 or 40 if there is a headwind In the other direction there is a long slope that isn't so high. Holding 50 with traffic isn't too bad.
Being able to hold a real 50-55 all the way would be nice

yea, people do drive fast and very inattentive. The state law against texting is such a small part of the problem. 99 times out of 100 the bad driver is on the phone. Not that non-riding cagers have ever been dutifully observant, but technology has made it worse for two-wheelers. Even driving a Suburban, I am wary of moronic actions. Coming down a 4 lane and knowing that the right turners will slam on the brakes and turn without a blinker at any point, no matter if it is my big SUV or a semi tractor. Same bad drivers day after day.
I don't like being on the phone even on a clear freeway, I use blinkers even in parking lots. I won't cut any one off for a last second turn - it is just too easy to go to the next opportunity to make the turn or turn around to go back.
There just is no excuse for not paying attention and risking lives whether you are on anything from 2 to 18 wheels.
And on that, a little more speed out of my 150cc to help me not be the slow link in a chain of traffic.

as for your head light does it take a standered automotive bulb if so i have had luck with upgradeing from 35/35s to 55/60 or what ever the standerd car bulb is i have heard that some of the clone scoots have had issues with the houseing melting if they dont vent it with the brighter bulbs

It uses a BA20d 35/35 - but I've heard an H4 can be made to fit somehow. I have a 139db horn mounted - while I haven't laid on it, a few 'toots' have got attention from people not stopping for their right turn on red while I am on my green arrow left turn. I did find a 45/45 H4 halogen - not ordered yet. bulbster.com/lightbulbs/eiko-4745bp-57044-p-2935.htmlProlly add a few vent holes for that upgrade. Also found a place in the Netherlands that has a BA20d conversion plate - intended for Xenon but should mount an H4 halogen bulb. Not sure if I'll order them or not, yet. I have some LED strips for visibility and a pair of LED fog lights not mounted yet. There is a front 168/194 bulb in the headlight housing that I'll get a Superbright LED to install. It was cold and snowy Saturday, chilly and very windy today, so no tweeks and twiddles. up to 3" of snow in the forecast for tonight, so no scooter ride to work Monday.

we only got 1.5" or 2" maybe and none stuck to the road. But it was 29F and the ice on the car windows was pretty stiff. Last week we had a couple days in the upper 60s. Then crap again, and for the next 5+ days.
I wanna ride every day!
I have read that thread on headlights before, and again more recently.
