Well shes seen better days thats for sure . I dont know a whole lot about it yet, i just got it in late tonight. The owner had it stolen last year and the police found it in a park all tore up of course. Now the guy needs it so here we are. All i know so far is that its a 2006 and has a 139QMB motor, its in very sad shape, it needs a throttle, a battery and lots of love. This guy is on a tight budget so i wont be polishing the turd to a glaze or anything. I do want him to be impressed if i can because he is living in one of those halfway homes and allot of the people that stay there ride scooters . He said he thinks it needs a new coil because it doesnt have spark, but the battery is shot and the kickstarter is broke so im not sure how he cranked it over other than a big battery charger. I am just going to get it running good, do any de-restricting that might need done, change the oil, and maybe fix some of the cracks in the plastic. Thats about all he can afford for now, depending on what is wrong with it of course. Other than a bad case of ugly.

hmmm did this guy not have an insurance company? In Canada any motorized has to be insured. The body looks like it is in good shape, try the plastic welding in the holes a bit of paint and look brand new Ray

Nice that the scooter was finally found, the police usually are not much help at all for stolen scooters. Is this guy in a rush to get it?

hmmm did this guy not have an insurance company? Few states require insurance on 2 wheelers...those that do only require liability insurance.

No insurance required here yet, it is an option but hard to find companies to insure them. It was left by some railroad tracks or something so i would assume the rail workers called the police. About the only way you can get one back around here is if it get "ditched" somewere or the cops pull it over and check the VIN#. Can anybody show me what wires need crossed to get the ignition to connect? He had something messed up because when i hooked the battery up i blew the fuse for the batt.

Sounds like you need to go looking for a short in the wiring to me, that's probably why they left it on the tracks, it shorted out and they didn't want to try to fix it, it's easier to just steal another. You're going to need some patience with that and a wiring diagram would help. Check out the manuals listed at the top of this page and see if any looks similar to the wiring you see on the scooter. scooterrebels.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=scooterresources&action=display&thread=4

They just ripped the wires from the ignition and twisted them together. I am getting a new ignition, throttle, battery, coil, and changing the oil. He doesnt even care if i de-restrict it or not, he just needs wheels asap. I will see how good it runs out when i get her going, if its to slow i will take out the restricters. If it will run 35+ i will leave them in. Thanks for the link Rebel.

Crapola! If you weren't sofar away....I'd try to buy that sccoter. Yeah I need a fiddy now, so I can build a drag race fiddy, to carry up to Indy next year.
I think Jeremey said they have an open, or unlimitted class. Should be fun to see what I could come up with by then, to compete with his flat black and orange drag 50. Be even better if I can teach Ross to pin in, hold on, and go straight for 1/8th mile....all 130lbs of him...

That would be cool Kliff. A 130# rider would be going places thats for sure! I am pretty sure i will end up with this scooter, im not sure what to do with it yet though. I was thinking about fixing it up for the Mrs but its so ugly right now i couldnt make her ride it, and she doesnt have a whole lot of scooter time in so im afraid to turn her loose on Skeedr. I would rather her ride a 4stroke because they run so smoothly at idle and take off. I think they make a better scooter to learn on than a built 2T that can go from idle to 5grand very unpredictably if you arent used to it.

With the CR80 6 sp gear box it was vicious with anyone under 180lbs. That would have been a wonderful power unit, minus tranny, to graft onto a CVT......wooooohoooo....baby, that would have been wild. Did I netion 24mmOKO round slide, polini 70cc kit, Techno Gas chamber, 13:1 head, CF reeds, hours upon hour of cylinder to case port matching...... Hmmmmmmm, maybe I was scootering, a little further back, than I even realized...this was in '02 while still working as Parts Manager at the local H-D Dealer Sorry, rambling....S.O. bike, perfect, go go it!

You said it had a CR80 motor right? The same one as the dirtbikes had? I had a YZ80 that believe it or not i bought from a big local dealership for $100 bucks. They got it on trade and it wouldnt run, there guy said it needed a top end and to them it wasnt worth it, it was beat up but still all there. I believe it was a 91, it was the years that they went through the stupid pink and purple color scemes(very ugly). So i bought the bike and took it home to find it had a stuck ring. I did get it to fire at the dealership but the salesman wasnt around. I told my buddy to get on it and put it in second gear, i pushed, he dumped, it fired, i quit, he said keep going, i said no i dont want it to start right now, not until this deal is sealed. I was in the middle of trying to get it for $100 even after taxes, so the salesman had to go get it approved and get the paperwork. I took it home, put a new ring on the old piston and had fun, fun, fun. The gearboxes on the little 80 race bikes are very short ratio and close geared so they haul donkey through all 6 gears. I remember telling people that wanted to ride it that if they want to give it hell to short shift to 4th then the front might stay down if your butt is on the gas cap lol. I saw allot of people bust there butts on it. Nobody ever got hurt, we would ride it in a pretty soft field most the time. Aww, memories

I had a YZ80 myself when I was a kit. Great bike lots of power, we streched the rear tire back about a foot and I raced hillclimbs with it.
