Whats the best battery these days for my Linhai powered JCL MP 250 ? It takes a YXT 9 BS size battery. Does anybody have a Bike Master brand MG9-BS Gel battery in their scoot ? I have been thinking about one of those since they seem to be one of the only ones that will stand behind it more than a year. This Bike Master batt. has a two year warranty as opposed to a 60 day or 1 year warranty. This Florida record heat is total hell on batteries.

Keeping the battery charged and not using more power than your bike can replace helps them live longer. Yes extreme Temps do suck the life out, I don't think heat is as bad as extreme cold though. The battery Joe recommended looks good.

I ended up getting a Bike master gel battery for $64 to my door. Has a 2 year unconditional guarantee. I just couldn't resist after all my $35 dollar 1 year or less wonders. My scoots a 257 cc. It probably takes a bit more battery than a 150. You have a big edge on not needing a great battery when you have a kick start option. Hell, when I had almost all kick start bikes way back in the day a battery was hardly ever an issue.

I think the heat is pretty hard on them because we have a lot of vehicles in this yard and a batt never seems to fail until the Dog days of summer (100 degrees +). I bet we lose 2 batteries every summer here at least. We also have "nothing" with a kick starter.

Here in nc a tiny bit above ya I end up treating the "bike master" cycle gear regular batteries like wal Mart "neverstart" cheapos and needing a float charge on em when not in use. High heat and low heat never agrees with batteries but I've never really had luck with bike master, even my 1974 Honda needed a new batt after a year, however the sealed acid batteries I've had some luck getting over 2 years on a few diff brands including alarm batteries.. .....😇
