Like the title says I took my reverse trike Liberty out on a long trip today. The weather was sunny with a wind at about 10mph and bumpy pot hole Old 60 highway between MT.VIEW and BIRCHTREE Mo. and down aproximately 5 mi. of dirt roads.
Once I got the hang of the old girl it was the funnest and most comfortable ride I've ever had on a bike or scooter.
I think there were more potholes than asphault on that highway, but, they were hardly noticeable when I couldn't dodge them fast enough, liberty just brushed over them almost as comfortable as a car would.I never went over 40mpg because of the break in period.
The ride was absolutely smooth and 40mph is just a touch on the throttle and you have to hold the old girl back because she wants to run,no hiccups or throttle lag at all, just a crisp response to the throttle.
Now the 5mi.of dirt roads were awfull wash boards for about a mile but liberty handled them without jumping all over at about 16-18mph.
Then we hit the 100ft. paches of gravel at around 25mph and she started walking all over the road till I slowed down to 15mph and she went straight as an arrow.
There was on thing that bugged me though,All the way there and back there was a clicking noise like a stick or a playing card stuck in the spokes of a bike. I finally traced it down to the 8ft. long speedo cable so when I got home I pumped some grease in that baby and now it's no longer making the clicking noise.
I have to give the mechanic named JOE and the folks at SUPER SCOOTER SHOP in Springfield Mo. an A+ for the inspection and serviceing the bike before I aquired it from them. They(shop) even changed all the cheap Chineese crap tires and put on new after market
tires at no extra charge. They didn't let me take the bike till they thought it was good enough to put their name on it. Before I bought the bike from them I heard that the owner was a hardass to deal with,But I found out that he was just a biker from way back that made no bones about the prices and won't sell you junk and won't try to pack your arse with a bunch of promises he can't keep.I found him to be straight to the point and a pleasure to do buisiness with.
They even lent me there loading straps and told me that just bring them back when I get around to it. AND they EVEN called me up today to see if everything was still ok with the bike. KUDOS.
Well, that's about all that I've got to report on it so far until I get my baby broke in. daddue11
