my father in law wants to sell his helix, it is a 2001 model and only has 270 actual miles on it. what do you think its worth.

Probably quite a bit right now, considering the gas prices and all. My '85 Honda Elite was a nice scoot....this Helix will be similar.
Since it's in the family, and with such low miles, you might be able to get a great deal for cheap bucks. But like all scoots that have mostly just been sitting around, you could have the usual problems.....dead battery, gummed-up carb and the like. Check the tires for cracking and flush the coolant if you get it.
You could do worse.....

Kelly Blue Book says $1400.00 trade in value, and $2050 retail value. I think I'd ask $2500.00 and see what happens.

I was thinking around 2000.00, I gave it a good going over yesterday and rode it about 5 miles. It runs great and will cruise at 65.

If your willing to take $2000.00 for it....hang a sign on it for $2200.00 and see where it goes....that way you have a little wiggle room.
