1000 RPM Torque Spring Install139 QMB 4 Stroke
The following is a step by step on installing a 1000 rpm torque spring in a 4 stroke 139QMB.
The first thing you need to do is make sure you have all the
tools to install the spring.
You will need: 8mm, 17mm, 14mm, 38mm sockets, impact gun, and
a vice.
Fig 1. Remove the CVT cover for access to the clutch. You’ll
need a 8mm socket to remove the bolts.
Fig 2. Move bracket that holds throttle cable to the side (no need
to remove won’t get in the way.)
Fig 3. Remove flywheel. Requires a 17mm socket and a impact
gun.
Fig 4. Remove drive belt.
Fig 5. Remove clutch bell. Requires 14mm socket and a impact
gun
Fig 6. Remove clutch and pulley. Slides off in one piece.
Fig 7. Spring is located in between the clutch and pulley.
Fig 8. Remove nut on clutch side of assembly. Requires a 38mm
socket, Impact gun and a clutch tool
Fig 9. Remove clutch
Fig 10.Remove torsion spring but keep sleeve that came off
spring.
Fig 11. Place new spring in place of the old one.
Fig 12. Replace steel sleeve on new spring.
Fig 13. Replace clutch.
Fig 14. Replace nut on clutch. Remember 38mm socket
Fig 15. Replace clutch and pulley.
Fig 16. Replace clutch bell
Fig 17. Replace belt
Fig 18. Replace flywheel
