Well today, I had a patient come into the clinic, she was in a wheel chair, had her foot splinted and had a good amount of road rash. 3 days ago she was in a motorcycle accident, she came out of it fairly well, just a fracture in her foot and some road rash. Her husband is in the hospital, she started crying when I asked how he was, she didn't tell me anything, just cried.
This is potent evidence that when riding, you need to wear all the gear to protect yourself with. I'm sure the only thing they were wearing was some street clothes and a helmet.

well i hope all ends up well for them and i can personaly attest to the fact that gear saves your ass a 60 mph dump and i walked away a bit dazed some bruises but i walked away granted my thumb on my left hand is still sore and a but puffy 4 weeks later but had i not had my gear on it would have been a lot worse had i not had my helmet on i wouldnt be here had i had a 1/2 helmet on i would need facial reconstruction

Amen my brother, we are all glad you had the gear on when the motor froze up on Olive, she is more easily repaired and cost a lot less money to do so.
