I have a chance to buy a used Super 9. It's kinda pricey for an '04, but I hear they go for top dollar. What kind of 2t engine is in a Super 9? Some ads I see say water cooled and some say air cooled . Do they make performance parts for this engine? RD

yes they make kits and pipes for them the 04 should be lc if it is those are the ones that demand the cash if its an air cooled one they can be dogs and not worth the money
infact if you have a lathe and you can turn down the skirt you can use horizontal minerllie kits
the best place to get parts for them is from moped hospital

Thanks JMK. I found the Moped Hospital. This Super 9 has 1300 klicks on it and looks as new. I am seriously considering it, even though they are asking almost a new price.

after they discontiued the lc the price of the used lc ones jumped sky high this also happened about the same time they had to smog all the 2 strokes this is why presmog 2 stroke kymcos demand a premium
as kymco brought back there smoged 2 strokes they were realy down on power so bad that to properly deresrict them you need to replace the cdi box

I rode the LC Super 9 and here's my take on it. For a 49cc scooter it rocks. Much larger frame than a Vento Zip, so I fit well with my 6' 3" height. In stock form it's almost as fast as a 150cc 4t. Although the one I rode was a bit soft in the mid range. I think a carb tuning would fix that. Hauled me to above 50 mph. I weight 187 lbs. But I'm not going to pay top dollar, as new price, for that. Put a kit in it, dial in the carb, and you'll have a screaming fast 2t. All that will set you back about 3k. For 3k you can get a hell of a nice 4t scooter. Probably 2 250s. On sale. Or 3 150s. My opinion.

yes, the one back draw back on the 2 ts is the price to get one, hard to understand too because of the simplicity of the motor, but then volume is a key in production cost.

3600 otd is a bit high you are paying almost full retail at that price there is a black demo in menasha for 2400 + ttl and the new ones in depere are 3050 otd
but trust me dont trust that pos stock crank in them with anything other then stock type set up deblued and a sito+ no more on the stock crank

Sounds like I ought to reconsider. Course that's with a 10% TN sales tax. We have no State income tax. I've seen a few used for a lot less. Perhaps that the route I should take.

we are at 5.5% our lp are 23 every other year and our title fee is 100
i would realy consider a good used ones the older ones have some sweet biturbo resivour shocks on them
with the exception of the atomic fireball edtion they will all top out 50 to 55 stock about 45 with a side car
and new you only get a 1 year 5000 mi warranty but you do get road side assitance too
i got a real sweet deal on mine new but then again last year was slow scoots were no selling the shop owners are my friends and i lead rides out of there shop so my otd price was around the same price as the low +ttl price
and if you get a used one they should have the little ele bugs worked out of it if you get one and you ever have a no start situation start by disabeling the kill switch

Still looking for a Stella or a late model Vespa. I would love to have one of those Series III Lamberettas. They are Soooooo fine. Like Raquel Welch at 30 years old. Hell, she's still a goddess at 70.
