Dad is getting on up there in age. Honestly, we don't know, if when we say "see you tomorrow," at the end of each day, we will or not. It's on day at a time.
ANYWAY....Dad saw this, and said, "you know, WE haven't really done a ground up build, together, in quite a few years now.... whatcha think? I want something to ride around the neigborhood."
I orderred the plans that night, had the plans, THAT NIGHT. Are they worth $19.80, maybe, maybe not. But for the effort the guy put into doing 3 CAD's that come with it, I'd say, yeah. Will I share 'em? NO. Pay the man for what he put his time and energy into doing, or copy as best you can from pics. But I consider a sale of this nature as copywrited material, whether it is or not.
Step one.....Kinkos for some 16" x 24" enlargements, 7 bux for all 3 pages.
Step 2 read instructions, watch video...
Step 3, start acquiring parts.... PARTS ALERT.... Harbor Freight "Greyhound" 13 HP Horz shaft, elec start engines ON SALE for $299.00 PLUS they honorred a 20% discount coupon on top of that!
$239.00 + tax for the 13HP engine. It's a Honda Clone. Honda internals work in it, the Honda engine is $550.00+... oh sorry, that one is going in mine....LOL, Dad's is getting a 150cc shortcase GY6 for the CVT transmission, and maybe a few goodies too....LOL
Wheels, tires, bearings, etc. Picking up the steel next week.
Tracks....Step 4.... we are told in the instructions to cut the tread off some old Tractor trailer tires. Find some at a tire shop, with sidewall damage. They'll give 'em to you, so they don't have to pay disposal fees.
Yeah....sure...right....free tires....uhhummmmmm.
Picked up the FREE tires yesterday. Waled in with a pick of the little rig, and immediately brought a smile to the owner's face. Told him I'd like to sneak out with some tires from his "discard" pile. He said no problem, no need to sneak either. There's the pile, HELP YOURSELF! just bring it by and show him the finished rig, when done. Damn, that was easy...till I started hunting through tires, which he had stored in nice neat upright rows, and which I left in the same order I found them in.... minus a matching pair of GoodYear 11R24.5's. Thoroughly worn out, must've moved and inspected over 200 tires, but I got a set.....I still need another set though....dammit. No matter HIS has begun, his, is the focus.
One on the truck...
One on the cart, headed for the track fab shop....
Drilling pilot hole for the saw, and gutting away...
Voila, one track done, one to go...
So what are y'all doing, man connot live by scooter alone....LMAO!
