Looks like MaddMaxx is about a month from completion, and the whole reason for it's build is "quickie" engine changes...ie., NO bodywork.
So with it's impending conclusion, I started laying in some parts to start developing several different 59MM engine combos. Next month, I'll add a few more heads and half a dozen or so cams, maybe score a used engine or 2, and boom...we'll be ready to start 'sperimentin'!
As for now, unless I clean off another 4 foot of shelving, this is where we're standing...
That 4 ft section of shelving is DEFINITELY getting crowded.....
Hope some of y'all will benefit from the experimentation, but the 58.5/59mm big bore kits, not needing any machining to assemble, should be the most popular. Maybe this time next year, we'll move on to the PFS "Big Block." But for now, let's shoot for some reliable, but fun mouse motors. ;D
None of this is done with "sponsorship funds." This is all outta my pocket, so I can line up some inexpensive engine packages for the locals around here. Just thought I'd share all my findings with y'all. Cause if I screw up, or come up with something domed from the start, I'd rather it be on me, rather than another scooter owner. And when I hit a good combo, I want all the DAWGs to be able to duplicate.
61mm, 63mm, and strokers are coming soon.
But as an added "tidbit" of info, here is [glow=red,2,300]factoid #1[/glow]
1P57qmj engines CAN be converted to us the cheaper, and easier to find 157qmj heads.
here's what you need:
157qmj cam chain (autotech355)
157qmj cylinder studs #164-136 (PFS)
and naturally the 157qmj head and cam, with all associated valvetrain.
So as you can see, this thread will grow, with "factoids" of my research and development thrown in from time to time, that just might be helpful with all 150cc GY6's... ;D
