for general information.
I will be pretty scarce here for the next 4-5 days. I'm flying back to Dallas and driving up to my parents for a short visit.
Dads been in and out of the hospital for the last almost 4 months and it getting pretty worn down, mother is getting worn pretty thin too and they are both in their 80's. I'm afraid they are near going into a care facility, especially since they refuse to move to either where my sister lives or where I live.
Dad has been fighting off cancer for a long time and now is having other issues. Anyway I hope to have a nice few days with them.
One thing is for sure, when the man you knew as the man that had no obstacle he could not overcome in his life gets to the point that he can not get up and go to the bathroom without somebody keeping him from falling, it makes you think of your own morality.
My mothers parents and siblings have all been gone for over ten years, my father lost his last sibling while he was in the hospital a few months ago.

This place will be here when ya gets back, if I do anything drastic, I'll leave a back door, so's we can restore.... but with the group we got..... don't look for nuttin' drastic. We got the esiest going, most level headed guys out there.

Tell everyone we said, "Hey". I use to love going to Dallas when I lived up in OKC. I had a friend up on the NW Highway I'd visit and we would go catch a ballgame. Especially if Nolen Ryan was pitchin. RD

Rebel, You and your parents will be in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my Father to cancer 35 years ago and my Mother to Alzheimer's 2 years ago. Family should always come first.

Reb,
Our prayers are with you. At least the sub-freezing weather here has changed for the better! Both my Wife and I are heading toward the place where your parents are MUCH too fast. It does make you reflect on your own situation, and the fact that there's not much time left here to do what you need to do.
Have a safe trip, enjoy the visit and give your folks a big hug for Betty and me!
Sincerely,
Leo in Texas
