hey guys, new to this forum & I like what I see, so I thought I'd join & share. I scored this 1987 Honda Elite 150 from my buddy, & it was ripped apart by one of his friends who was gonna make a Burning man-mobile out of it, never did anything but rip it 1/2 way apart . .. so I inherited it in this condition: This thing has never sat for more than a couple months at a time with someone usually fooling around with it constantly, but mechanically it's been WELL-MAINTAINED & TOTALLY RELIABLE!! It had 6900 miles on it when I got it, and I drive it every day. Over the course of a year, I stripped some stuff, added a couple things & showed off its inner-beauty. I HAD to get ride of or cover-up the duct tape seat, so I fooled around with some ideas, ONE of which was burlap covering I got at Home Depot. It worked OK, but always tore easily. but it always came back to the ol' t-shirt seatcover I HAD to start focusing on moving things around, losing some parts, etc. First thing was the big hideous glovebox, though it was useful it was just a big odd-shaped brick of plastic, & had to go. With it, the floorboard started to disappear as well. .. with the box: without: Then, the floorboard had to go. At this point, the battery was zip-tied to the frame & the only body panels were the handlebar cover & the battery cover Ditched the stock airbox, painted some heres-&-theres, new headlite & taillite: 2008 Honda Ruckus stock tails & blinkers: mini fog lites for headlites: FINALLY, new tires: Headlites weren't bright enough, so had to get a different headlite & front blinkers: reshaped the seat foam a bit. old foam: new foam: chopped the bars about 3-4" some other stuff: new gauge pod off a Honda Ruckus, dropped the front end about 2", & painted everything all flat black. & this is how she sits now:

Thanks guys! !! I'm diggin a lot of the stuff I'm seein, & everywhere I look I get some useful ideas. Aside from custom, I'm not really able to buy any tuner parts, though I hear some of the GY6 parts will work (clutch assy. but not the variator, belts maybe, gears & stuff I don't think so) Lookin to do a 5" rear mini-fatty, custom exhaust & single rear shock, SHOULD all just fit without moving the engine at all! I'd love to get a 4" extension on the rear, too. This may be an early Summer project next year ;D The amazing thing is that i did a carb clean on this thing liek 3 weeks ago, & the main jet was a little clogged, slow jet seemed fully clogged, but the whole thing was otherwise SPOTLESS . I was amazed! Everything seemed to work just fine so I didn't change any parts on it at all---EXCEPT the intake boot, it was busted I bought a new one because I saw this: THEN, after I took it off & was able to see the whole part, the back side was split open! ouch!!

Yup, that would have caused me to change it out!
If you ever need to open the engine up, lemme know, I'd like a first hand look at the porting and such that thing has, just for some possible future projects, you might say. But If you'll let me hold it for a week or so, with yet another new intake, I'll assure you, it will have been worth your time to send it to me, and I'll cover the return postage. Other than that, all I'l say, is you'll have to trust me.

We'll have to discuss this after the 1st of the year, when I have more time & money to invest in it.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT!
If somebody described this scoot to me verbally, I'd hate it. BUT... see the pix, and you just gotta LOVE it! I'm an old chopper guy from WAY back (hence, my not-so-creative site identity...) LOL!
Anyway, YOUR scoot is an exact counterpart to how the Harley chopper phenomenon got started way back in the late forties. My hat's off to ya, bro! The old Hondas are mechanical gems, but I never thought you could actually make one "cool"!
Something tells me you just started a major hunt for vintage Honda scoots, by a whole troop of Rebs and Rebettes!
Welcome to the revolution, Ain't no doubt you're gonna fit right in!
Sincerely,
Leo in Texas
PS: Whatever you do with the exhaust... Make it LOUD!

THANKS man, I really appreciate that! ;D I'm still fairly new to riding, it's only been just under 2 years, so it's been a constant learning process for me. My buddy that gave me this scoot really showed me the ropes, & another guy I met on Total Ruckus has helped me by giving me parts to put on as I take stuff off (the taillite, headlite, etc) & has also helped me cut several mounting points & sharp edges off of this scooter. Less like a "polished turd" & more like a "gem in the rough", this scoot has been a total labor of Love for me. Glad it shows, thanks you guys!
