i have found on ebay some plans for a diy lift s70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/jcs182/MCLift/?action=view¤t=MCLiftver1.flvi have been wanting a lift so maybe instead of shelling out 300-400 for one from harbor freight i will see what i have laying around for wood and see if i can build one my self i am debating if i want to buy the guys plans or not i dont know if i want to spend 18 bucks for a set of plans that i will more then likely just use for motivation as im sure i will build it the way i want from the pics that i see it looks like it could use a few more brackes now it 18 bucks got me a hard copy and not just a pdf more then likely i would but just incase you guys want to look into it here is his ebay add cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-Lift-Moto-Lift-Table-Plans-EZ-to-Build_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3a54e6408fQQitemZ250532479119QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesnow if you were going to buld a lift from scratch how long would you make it how wide and how high of a lift i am thinking of 3 feet wide 8 feet long and a max lift of 48 inches i know using my floor jack i would have to lift in 2 or 3 stages to get a max of 48 inches but the other thing i was thinking is that it could double as a work table for other projects in the garage

I'm guessing that the wood hanging down under the platform drops behind that pipe to lock it in place. You definitely need some kind of locking device. Looks like it could work, but I think it might be best to see if the harbor freight one goes on sell for half price. I'd be a little leary of trying to lift it in stages, then bring it back down the same way.

That would be pretty easy to make. the front clamp would have to be a bit smaller for a scooter. I don't have a decent floor jack but been wanting to get one, Would be fairly easy to pick up and stand on end to get out of the way when not in use. I am going to save the pictures just in case the ebay one disappear as they always do. john

well i have a pile of lumber and pipe in the garage right now im hoping to have time this weekend to build it im not worried about lifit it in stages as my garage has exposed rafters so if its a pis then ill just string a strap to the rafters and ratchet it up or use my comealong to lift it instead of the 2x4 for the saftey latch i got some more of the piping like the the arms are

well i got a lift table built i did run into a few bumbs in the road by desingin it my self first thing was when i did my math i figured the piviots and lift points wrong so im only able to get 30 inches of table height and i can get up to 24 inches with just one lift with my jack so i have to figure out how to get to the 30 without having to reset my jack or make sure my lift spacer doesnt tilt i also have to build a wheel clamp add some eye bolts so i can tie a scooter down to the table im also going to make 1 or 2 sets of legs so if i want to leave the scooter up for a long period of time it will just be like its sitting on a perminent bench

Wow, you got enough room for the scooter and Thanksgiving dinner on that lift.
