OK guys and gals,
I've been a happy member of this site (as well as ScootDawg) for some time now. I've worked with the moderators long enough to be absolutely certain that nobody's ever been banned from either site because of race, gender, sexual preference, dandruff, acne, bad haircut, nearsightedness, baldness or brand of scooter they ride, etc.
There now is a You Tube posting which accuses both these sites of racism. If a member gets banned, it's because of unacceptable behavior. If a misunderstanding is involved, that is unfortunate, but it's behavior, not any other factor that gets anyone banned. I communicate with many members, and I have no idea what color (or even gender) they may be, and it certainly makes NO diference.
I'd like to remind folks that there is only one "race"... That would be the HUMAN race. [/color][/i] Humans, like scooters, come in a variety of colors. Black, white, red, yellow and brown are pretty much standard on production models... No problem there. If you happen to be purple or green, just let me know in advance so I won't stare while shaking your hand.
If for some reason, it just doesn't work out to be a member of a website, there are many other good ones to join. Or, start one up yourself... It's a lot of work, and not much glory. It might be a good learning experience though.
Regardless of who we are, we all see green grass, blue sky, and bleed red if we kiss the asphalt. All our feelings get hurt sometimes, but any opinions about these sites being racist are misguided, no matter how sincere those thoughts may be. It just doesn't happen that way on either site.
If anyone on these sites feels they've been wronged, please, let's try to work it out without posting negative things that tell only one side of a story.
Just for the record, I'm old, fat, white, live in a trailer park... and all my black, white, Asian, Indian, rich, poor, straight and gay friends somehow manage to put up with me, as well as each other. Surely, we can do the same on a website where we don't even have to deal with each other in person...
PLEASE... Ride safe, and post friendly!
Sincerely to all readers,
Leo in Texas
