So when you get the head perfected, have a mold made off of it so you can cast them and sell the suckers.

Did you happen to shave anything off of the head? Not being sure of the piston(s) this head might see, no I left it stock on chamber volume.

There's been some discussion on flanges, and flange making lately, and probably a bunch of people are saying why? Why bother? Wellllll, nnot all flanges are created equal, or at best symetrical. The IIntake flanges we work with are a case in point. They are FAR from symetrical, as to the port placement, and mounting hole placement. Q proerly fitting flange in one direction, may be an 1/8" or more off in another. Start getting into intake reversals, racing, and such, some times it is easier to start from scratch. Check out this manifold flange I made today for a freind. Before the intake is welded up, it will fit any of 4 different ways, only one is right, correct, and in alignment with the port...check it out. But, when turned over, and around....VOILA, ready to have the intake tube welded, then be port matched... And while I was in the shop today.... ever look at your valves? That letterring on the head, could cause a hot spot...pre-ignition, collect carbon....more hot spots, hinder flame propogation across the combustion chamber.... What if we slicken some of those puppies up... Maybe even do a little stem polishing, with a swirl in the tulip area, just to speed things up through the bowl area of the port... I'm feeling good abbout this head, colaborating with the owner, who will be making his own manifold off that flange. That's what it's all about there. Get help where ya need it, do what you can for yourself....build that puppy, experiment...yeah baby....this gonna be a scot to be contended with in May..... y'all be glad ya saw what ya did...the rest is gonna be under wraps!

So when you get the head perfected, have a mold made off of it so you can cast them and sell the suckers. Now there's an excellent idea. Even the NCY heads are far from perfect. RD
