there's a link in that post to the original club that they came from. Maybe if I buy the lifan trike I can convert the scoot into a chopper style ratbike

Whew, some of those scoots are singularly U-G-L-Y... However, a few actually show some real styling talent. All of them show enginuity and building expertise (?) Some even seem to show creative use of conduit? (LOL).
Even the absolute worst of the batch have some features that could be inspirations to the American builder though. Cool stuff for stirring the imagination for sure! A couple of the better fabricators here MIGHT just have a future chopping Harleys if they can get hold of some old "hogs" in their farther-removed parts of this old planet!
Heck, if it's on two wheels, and it runs down the road, it's FUN!
My two-cents worth...

Whew,Talk about INSPIRATIONS! I was just checking out the new NASRA site, and in their "Inspirations" thread, I found these along with others. Talk about cool! You RUCKUS guys, if THIS one doesn't light your fire, YOUR WOOD'S WET![/i] And how'd ya like to cruise the drag on this smooth custom? Looks like something Chip Foose would be proud to claim the design on! If an astute Chinese maker would mass-produce something like this (only some clever bodywork, mag-nificent rear wheel and a little attention to detail would do it...) how fast do you think they would sell? I'm thinking about like icewater in that hot place!!!Some of our fellow scooter jockeys are coming up with stuff that rivals ANYTHING built by the big-bike gurus. As Barbara Walters might say: "I'm impwessed..."I'm beginning to feel SO inadequate on my stocker... (COL) crying out loud... Gotta love this level of fabbing!Leo in Texas

Could rig 1.5 rocket pods on l. & R. floor board's like the old Huey gun-ship's. That would do in the running gear! lol!

Hmmm.....
An M-16 mounted on its side, with a separate pistolgrip/trigger setup. Pretty technical!
A simple M-60 machinegun with a thousand-round belt of .308 ammo works well... and has the proper "intimidation factor". Of course, the rocket pods are sure a nice final touch!
Cool to have a weapons system worth dozens of times the cost of the scooter! LOL!!!
This thing would not even cause much attention in Texas, beyond the usual question: "...Hey Bubba, that thing full-auto?"
Neat inspiration for sure!

VERY COOL!
Or, VERY HOT Depending on your point of view... I LOVE how the posts trash the guy like "Ya gonna put in 11 hp?"... RIGHT! Then, he shows the whole bike. Now THAT'S gonna raise a ruckus (pun fully intended).
Is it still a scooter when ya stuff a 150 hp bike motor in it? I think so... A local "tuner" kid in my hood has a fully handbuilt-frame scooter with a turbocharged Accura V-6 (around 500 hp) in it. It also uses a car tire out back... Sticker on the back reads: "Yeah, it's a SCOOTER. Wanna RACE?".
These little wheezers are starting to grow some SERIOUS fangs!
Gotta love it!
