I am getting so frustrated. My stator keeps messing up. I have put 2 8 pole stators(stock for my scoot) with in 75 miles of each other and I think my second stator just messed up. I installed a electric fuel pump and wonder if this is making my stator work to hard. I installed the electric fuel pump at the same time I installed the new engine(big bore) so I can't compare anything together. Any idea's would be appreciated

odie : i kinda had the same thing with one of my 150s put as new stator and withing 88 miles it quit wanting to start , i tried new triggers for the ignition but same problem put a known good stator in and it fired right up , my guess is there is a bad batch of stators and so far we are the ones that got them another bad thing is they will either work or not just like a typical electronic component

I've been havin a problem, 2 different bikes.... same symptom Lites go out Seems like everything on the ac circut lays down Checked all connections thoroghly Only thing not replaced is stator 3 stators I have put out 14v+ at the battery (4000rpm) My question is, are the 2 bullet plugs the charging circut, and the 3 wire connector the AC circut ?? Any tips on metering a stator ? (besides the ol' leads on the battery method) Any input apprecieated

Shiftless the two bullet connected wires are probably from the trigger and cdi charging coils <go directly to the CDI>. And the three, the charging and lighting coil. One is charging <goes to the regulator>, one is lighting <goes to the headlights>, and one is ground. What colors are they?

White, Yellow, Green I'm pretty sure the green is ground Can I test these with a multimeter ? If so how ?

Yeah, the green is the ground, the white is the charging wire and the yellow the lights. On the stator measure the resistance of the yellow wire to the green <ground> and the white wire to the green <ground>. Neither should be more than .2-.4 ohms. That's what my info says Shiftless. These values are from a service manual for an Arrow 150 I got from here. scooterrebels.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=125readonly&action=display&thread=198

Thanx RD I printed that same manual a while back My stator ohms out within spec, and puts out 36 VAC from both yellow and white with engine running at 3k rpm Indicates stator is fine...... I kinda thought it was as this bike is fresh with 160mi on it I'll ring out every frikin circut starting at the stator wiring on these scoots makes ya wanna pull your hair out I have some time this weekend, so hopefully I find the problem I have the headlites on my old 1 temporarily wired to the battery so I can get around, but that setup drains my battery after a long ride
