yesterday i crossed one. i was just barely rolling and the scooter slipped out from under me planting my ass in 2 inches of water. just a little scratch on rocker panel. but......I could not stand up the surface was so slippery. slimy algae that wasn't the normal green. had I had my 1200cc bandit I would probably ended up in the hospital with a broken leg. just a bit of warning. I just pushed the button on a pair of sl26 tires for the carino. they would not have helped yesterday but later in the evening i had a 10 mile ride in the rain, that convinced me, them chinese tires are slick. when i put those sl26 tires on my yamaha 180 riva the difference between the chenshing tires was night and day. $75.98/free shipping at the motorcycle superstore. the tires shipped tonight and won't be here till the 7th of aug. sure wish the motorcycle super store could find a way to deliver a little faster.....but....they are not charging for the shipping so I suppose I shouldn't complain. It really irks me to buy some thing on ebay and get nailed 6-7 bucks for them to put it in an envelope, stick a stamp on it and send it. this package with the tires is over 15 lbs and I pay zip. john

at least you can be pretty sure it is on the way. Now if you have to pay to get them mounted, that can run a few bucks.

parting with my bandit is kind of like having to put your dog to sleep. its a 2001 and have had it over 6 years.got to do it though, I will be 67 end of month and the bike is beginning to hurt me riding it. I am still tempted to keep it and put a tire on the front. it still has life left but the handling isnt right when they start getting thin. Suzuki was really thinking when they put the speedo pickup on side of engine...you can read the speed with front wheel 2 feet off the ground!
I mounted 3.5x10 pirelli's on my riva and bought tire tools with what I saved doing it. when I mount up these tires I will be way ahead of the game. found my bench vice to be a decent tire bead breaker. john

I put those pirelli sl26 tires on yesterday. I took a ride last night and right away noticed they were better. I am running 24 front and 29 rear pressure. the ride on my dirt rode is considerably better. I did measure the circumfrence of stock tire and then the sl26....1 inch bigger. the speedometer will be a little closer, 1 mile at 60. 60 read and 56 mph. it was 55 john
