Does anyone make a stroker piston for a GY6 or do I just use plates under the cylinder? If not, I suppose I could call Wiseco, Arias, TRW, ect. and have them make me one for $$$$$$$$$. However, I'd like to avoid that. I was thinking 60mm stroke and 62mm bore, 181 and some, for my "Flying Couch" project this Winter. I'm going to pick up one of these, www.gsmotorworks.com/detail.cfm?id=798 , from Kliffs' favorite Scooter supplier. How's black and flames sound? Never goes out of style.

Depending on the clearance you need you could have the top of the piston milled down to give you the clearance you need. A very careful person could even use wet and dry sandpaper and a piece of glass as a sanding block and do the job.

Depending on the thickness of the piston dome, for a 2= stroke(60mm crank) piston crown removal is the way to go. The Akunar moly coated pistons I've measured from Carlos, have crowns approaching 1/8th of an inch thick, .125", and since the minimun you'll need on a piston that small in diaeter is about .065-.070" thick, you've got room to spare, without worrying about compromising piston strength. .043" is almost a perfect 1mm( amount needed for a 2mm stroke increase) It will be easier done in a lathe or mill with a piston clamp than by hand. .043" is MORE than 1/16", and metal removal by hand, can be done, but it is slow. 80 grit, some wd-40, and a peice of glass. plan on severral hours, and a few blisters from the sharp edges of the piston, even with gloves. Depending on how things are rolling around here, just wait till you're ready, I'll most likely have the time to shave it for you, if the mail delay isn't a problem...it'll only take be a few minutes, in the lathe or the mill. So just sit tight, and don't waste a lot of money on sandpaper....

I was worried about taking anything off the dome. Thanks for clearing that up Kliff. And I'll take you up on a shave when the time comes. I'm thinking new scoot in Sept. But I'll have all Winter for the mods. No rush. I found a site with nice flame decals. Check it out. www.edecals.com/accents/flames.htm There is also a decal shop close by.

No problem, just gotta be careful what you buy. A 58.5cc kit, the dome already is down to .085", take .040" off that..ain't gonna last long!
I've already bought and measured both. The 59mm coated Akunar from Carlos will be the way to go with a 2mm stroker.

I could always tell him he needs a glass polished finish with 1200 & 2000 grit paper for the last .010"
LMAO...he'd still be there a week!
