wonder if a frec. type of restriction would work but that would probably take a new board not so easy of a fix
I say keep plugging at it if you have the tools and background it could be fun playing detective

so have you had any luck yet? I was wondering if it is just doubled will I still be able to read it at max RPM or are there not enough digits eg: real life 7000 and on tach it would be 14000 but it only has 4 digits that max @9999, or would it read 7 and 14? TIA

after having run the scooter with the tach on it I am slowly coming to the conclusion that it is working properly. I was under the impression that the scooter had a rpm limiter. the tach has been run up to a little over 9k with the scooter on the stand. that seems to jive with what others have said. when I ran it on my malibu it ran 3 times the real rpm indicated on dash. with 6 cyl that fire every other rev that would be right. In my opinion I was wrong on my initial assessment of of the tach. Just wish I had a optical hand held tach to make a comparison to. john

funny I was waiting for a response from you for a while and today i said to myself ... "self just put it on" so I did and it seems that at idle it seems high 2400 at start and then down to 1800 but I thought that my idle was lower than that and I went for a ride and at my top speed it was only 8050 and that was where I thought it would be. so now I need to do is find a GPS so I can verify my speed. Who knows maybe it's right and I am getting up to 42MPH It does seem like I am. and then I will be a happy camper.
