I have just ordered it from them, cost me $30 with shipping. Shipping is free in the USA. I should have it next week. Oh the cord is 5'6" long, which is more then enough space to reach the spark plug wire.

I got mine this afternoon and installed it. I think it isn't reading right. looks as if it is reading twice what it should be. at one point the idle was reading 2300 and I know it wasn't running that fast. the wheel should have been spinning. wide open on the stand was just under 10,000 and I got a stock cdi. john

Sounds like you and i are getting similar readings. I though, if i do not have one how am i supposed to know what the real reading is supposed to be? Are we both running at 2300 normal rpm? Let me know what you think? What has me thinking is we have 1500 rpm clutch springs i think. So 2300 rpm would engage the wheel would it not? Let me know what you think, might have to call and tell them it is defective. Mine also came with 2 minutes on the hour meter and wonder if they mailed me a used one.

wonder if it is not for the right "cycle" and may be set up for a 2 stroke I haven't had a chance to put mine on yet I just got out of the hospital so it will be a few more days before I get to mine and see if I get the same thing

I think that our engines do spark on every revolution. It would be hard to not fire and skip a pulse when the the magnet on the fly wheel goes by the coil once per revolution. guess I will call the company when I am in a better mood. the $18 isn't as bad as what to do with the holes I put in the scooter to mount it. mine says it is a 16e2 and 2-cy. that should read right.

Even if i know for a fact it is double rmp, that fine. 16k a no no then lol. I know stock cdi has an rpm limitor in it and i think it is set for 5500 rpm, i will have my bike back together i hope by then end of the weekend. Get my house ready for foster kids took a ton of time away from my tinkering.

no resolution yet. I called the manufacturer, an "engineer" said to try it on my car so I did. my malibu at 1000 rpm shows 3200 and was varying a lot more than built in tach. calling back I got ducted to a voice mail. i don't really expect any one to call back. voice mail is kind of like sweeping some dirt under the carpet. at this point I do not recommend any one to buy this product. wasting 18 bucks aint as bad as now I have holes in the scooter I have to hide. It's beginning to sound like this is a tach to avoid buying.

DO NOT BUY.....DO NOT TRY IT AND PUT HOURS ON IT IF YOU HAVE ONE.......they can not be returned if they have been used. I talked to an engineer this morning. it seems the cdi is making more than one pulse per rev. the meter is correct reading double. when I put it on my malibu it made 3x the correct rev's...malibu has 3 cyl in front and the plug wires are together so this tach reads spark from all three. I am going to try putting the pick up in a different spot. If I just toss it I will have holes in my lower dash where I mounted it. If I find any way to make it read right I will post here. john

mrsg hang loose. I have some electronics background and may have a fix. I have a techtronics scope mounted in my garage, looking at the wave form from both the cdi and the coil it is a burst followed close by a neg to positive spike. If a person rectified the whole thing and put a capacitor to filter out the burst I think it would work.. my raging cause is that since I made holes for mounting screws and the lead on my scooter I would have to fill them. I believe this is going to work. the pulse we need but the burst is what is f***ing up the reading and I am going to get rid of it. John
