hello!
My name is Bambi and im brand new to scooters and i just got my first one. its a 2008 il bello from flyscooters. it's got a 49cc 4 stroke engine with a cooling fan, uni air filter and vac fuel pump. the tank is above the motor if that's helpful information. i believe it's a gy6 knock off motor. i rode it home from buying it and it ran great until i got it home. it was a very long trip that i split in half for my sake it was about 100 miles. Once I got it home i had to readjust wires because the connections were super poor but i was able to get that resolved. the issue im facing now is that it wont turn over. It has high quality fresh gas in it, so that's not my problem, it has a good visible blue spark from the spark plug, so it's not that, i pulled off the carb and cleaned the carb and its still not turning over. when i spray starting fluid on the air filter it turns over but then sputters out which i've been told means its the carb. there's a green 1/8 line that comes off the bottom of the carb that wasn't attached to anything and i don't know what that is, i don't see a place for it to go, it's got to be a vac line which would track with my problem if it's not where its meant to go. i've only sprayed it twice with the starting fluid because that seems to not be a great thing to do based on the internet but its hard to say so i played it safe. i was also told to put seafoam in the tank and the can said the whole can, my friend told me to siphon all of that out because he thought it potentially was too much seafoam to gas ratio wise for the size tank. i did that and refilled the tank and it did nothing. i also checked the fuse and its not fuse related and i checked and topped off the oil with the manufacturer's recommended oil. i'm not a mechanic let alone a scooter mechanic but would like to learn my scooter inside and out and so far id say im past clueless but not much past novice. i am happy to replace the entire carb because they are inexpensive but if it's that green line replacing the carb wont help if i don't know where that's meant to go. the carb didn't have the amount of gas in it that i expected either when i pulled it off and cleaned it. sorry for rambling i just didn't want to miss any details.
