Hello
I recently acquired a 2007 Yamaha Vino 125 when my dad passed away. The bike is a silver/grey color with 2800 miles on it, but at this time the bike doesn't run and has been in storage for several years. I've never worked on a scooter nor motorcycle before, so I downloaded the service manual tonight to begin reading up. My wife holds complete apprehension to me wanting to get it on the road again, and my 14yr old son feels this scooter project may be greatest idea ever conceived... I fall somewhere in between their pessimistic/optimistic extremes mostly because I have no idea what, if any, maintenance was done on the bike during the 2800 miles.
I am from the Akron, Ohio area and hope to get to work on the scooter soon. There isn't much I could find online regarding the Vino YJ125, but It's nice to have found a seemingly laid back forum devoted to scooters in general. I hope to be able to share my experience of making this bike roadworthy yet again, possibly pick a few brains on here if I hit a snag. I will start a thread and begin sharing the progress as soon as I can get the bike home.
Hope to get to know some of you and get to know these bikes better. - Cor

Welcome to the group Besides a carb clean and fluid change at that age any rubber product is shot tires belt hoses all need to be replaced Also plan on replacing the springs in the clutch Being it’s a Yamaha if your staying stock the best parts are oem replacement Don’t trust an aftermarket belt in it that part must be an oem Yamaha part Read through the vino 125 section over on Zuma forums there isn’t much life over there and being the v125 hasn’t been around for a few years there isn’t much action over there but you might find some info there

Thanks for the reply and the info! I just picked up the new battery today and should be getting the bike home by the end of the week. I have found a website that offers nearly every OEM part and a few that offer aftermarket, such as clutches. Will also check on the Zuma forums to see what I can find there. Pics coming soon. Thanks again.
