VERY impressive!Lots of work and engineering here! Please keep us updated... What kind of power, details of build (did you fabricate all that great suspension from scratch?) What are factory components and which are your own design? Your "bones" are GREAT! Your final cosmetics ("plastics" or sheetmetal, etc.) can be the "icing on the cake" and REALLY make the project complete! Really ambitious... Should be worth the effort!NICE WORK! Leo in Texas

Leo, Thank you for your comments, I like to keep busy in my retirement, so I build things with motors and wheels, and are street legal, what's the use if you can't drive it often? When my Orange scooter was close to finish I started looking for another project and found this drawing on the Internet "Concept 407" I like the low seat (my wife is 5ft.) and the Honda Rebel 250cc would be a great match, I was ready to junk a Chinese quad frame when the engine compartment and IFS clicked, but the Chinese frame at high speeds was a good way to get hurt so I took the dimensions off the quad and started to build my own frame off the drawing. I know this is NOT a scooter. Have fun and ride safe...

Hey, that great piece of engineering is a scooter in my book! And, a swell one to boot!
You make some fabulous rides, and I really enjoy seeing them. I agree with your idea about a ride needing to be able to be "used"... WAY back in 1962, in Illinois, I built a mini-bike (Go Kart Scrambler make). I was into go-karts, and powered the little beast with a full-race McCulloch kart motor. Through a fluke in Illinois DOT regulations, I managed to get it street-licensed!
The Scrambler was one of the smallest and most irresistible of the 50's-60's mini-bikes with diminutive frame and 5" alloy wheels. Tire OD was 11".
With a Max-Torque clutch set for 8K rpm engagement it would SMOKE the rear tire and do 0-100 in 13 seconds, making it WAY faster than any bike of its era! I could eat a Triumph Bonneville for breakfast and go wherever I wanted to go, and carry the little bike in an use it for a stool!
Too much fun!

_Playing with the location of rear shock and trying to remember also make room for pushrod, jack shaft and the seat is going on top of everything. Swing arm needs to go higher for the Harley rear rim and M/T tire...
