I kind of figured. My mechanic friend called this morning the VA made him take a week off and he went up North. I hope to be able to figure it out by the end of next week.

Ladies & Gent's I got it!!!! All by my little idiotic self...I am not sure what I did but it wasn't rubbing on the belt cover as I thought. When I took it off it was still making the noise so I checked all the fluids, pulled off and reinstalled the variator/clutch pack and wham, I got it!

Yeah I guess so it took a while and I had to keep reminding my brain to slow down. Still not sure what was wrong but I did manage to get it back together and it rides great. Didn't get anymore top speed but I like that I got a bit more take off power. Doesn't bog so badly on hills either.

What variator did you go with, a stock one?

I ordered a performance one but...it wouldn't fit right so I used the sliders and the key tabs on the back on the stock one I had.
Oh and a new wrinkle if you will, the bolt for the motor mount back by the oil dipstick port snapped off.

Not good. If it is just the bolt that is easy to replace, if the m9unt broke it gets serious.

It's just the bolt it's the upper one that is connected to the right side oil cover. That hooks to the upper part of the right side swing arm off the axle...
I'm having trouble getting it out at the moment so either I need to replace that part which I can find another one for or pull that part off and get the bolt out.
