what up fellow rebels, need your help ive noticed that i have a gas leak at the bottom of my carb and i think its coming out from a hose at the bottom of my carb with a spring around it, do you guys know what im talking about? my scoot still has the stock carb, is it time for me to get a new carb?? i notice a strong smell of gas from my scoot and when i look around the carb, there is a small puddle/leak on the bottom of my carb but it is NOT dripping on the floor
any advice...

You may have gas flowing into the carb causing it to overflow giving you the leak and smell. Happens if a small piece of debri keeps the float valve from closing properly. Not a hard thing to fix, if you can change a carb you can do this. Take the carb off. Remove the bowel and pull the float off, that will get you right where you need to be to clean the float valve.

A hole in the float will make it sag and allow gas to keep coming in the carb and drain out the over flow, a dirty float valve seat will do the same thing.

Scooter update: Bad news, it has gotten worse, its leaking more and now its on the floor, I think I'm gonna have to stop riding till Friday when I get paid and go to the mechanic. This job seems to much for me to fix on my own so I will take it to the mechanic on friday

Naw, a blind dog with a note can do it.
Just look at it this way, it is broke and how much more broke can you make it. If you really do not want to tear the carb apart, you can buy a new one for a lot less than the price of payng a mechanic to work on it.
