Nice pictures JR. Derestricting a stock airbox usually requires a bigger main jet but often not a bigger pilot jet.
There is so little pressure drop across the stock filter at low speed, that the low speed jet usually can't tell that you have deristricted the filter.

Sounds like a busy day JR. I always had a problem figuring out the math on the tiny drill bits. Electric guitar strings work well though. ;D

My hats off to anyone who can use drill bit smaller than 0.016 without continually breaking them.

Thank you....thank you very much.....LOL...seriously, my #79 = .37mm, or .014" bit, is about 20 years old now, and still going strong. OK jr, here's the deal, I drilled you a .37mm jet, and I've got a .39mm jet on hand, some SS allen head bowl screws, and a spare 3mm ball end driver... I can drop it in the mail, Priority Service tomorrow, andyou should get it Monday or Tuesday. Will that get you outta the woods? If so, then take that silly ass computer fan outta your air box, and concentrate on the foam filter...... PS....yeah, I know....the jets don't look the same, they look longer....trust me...they work.

pilot jets are easy to get, this drilling thing what is that, I keep 38-45 in shop alright Kliff go for it you are the expert Drilling jets is a matter of economics Mike. have jets, that are too small for an application, that are already bought and paid for, and I have an extensive set of orfice drills, that has probably been paid for for 30 years, so when I can save 5-10.00 on a jet, I drill it. It also allows me the opportunity to "fine tune" by sometimes splitting the available sizes. Carburetion is a very imperfect science, when one tries to tune with items "on the shelf." The true performance edge can only be found by thinking outside the box, and being able and prepared to do what is necessary to fulfill a performance goal. If I choose to give away, my time, and parts, it is strictly my business. Before this goes any further, be expecting a PM shortly.

For drilling jets, what type of setup do you use? I have a drill but my hands are not that steady. Do you guys use a lath or drill press?

Many folks use a lathe, and it is 100% steady. I've been doing it by hand, for years(30....more...)....try it kneeling on the deck of an alky hydro boat hull, while 5 guys just try to steady the boat....rather tan pull it outta the water....not much time between rounds sometimes, and you do whatcha gotta do..... So yeah, I still free hand, but it is SO much easier sitting at the work bench in the shop!

Can't say about jeting,my personal preferance in jewelery making n repair is the double end'er wit one end to 0 mm when screwed tight.Have one of the quick release like that,I keep bumping the slide ring loosening the tool.Mostley me being clumbsy.lol
