My wife just purchased a BMS Federal 50 and I was giving it it's first oil change. According to the owners manual it says it take .9 liters. I poured in .8 liters and checked the levels but it seemed a little high. I started the scooter up for a few seconds and pulled the dip stick and oil came gushing out. Is this normal? It seems like the oil capacity is a lot less. I'm guessing it's around .6 liters. Does this sound right? Thanks

Sounds closer than 0.9liters. Be sure you check the oil when it is ona level surface and not leaning over. I don't have a 50 to check that but I think people have posted about 0.7 liters is what they have used.

i think these engines are hard to drain completely eg a bit of oil remains in the head
