When purchasing a Chinese scooter from an internet dealer (not all of us live where we can get to a brick and mortar store) are there any reliable resources to know who you can trust?
Sure there are "scam report" websites, however I have noticed that MANY of the posts/complaints on there seem frivolous or made up.
Some of the boards (like this one) have an area set up for people to report their experiences, but they seem to be under-utilized by the users.
I ask this, because I literally agonized over this for a little over a year, and because I could not find solid reviews of the online dealers I ended up buying my Hyosung (and I'm not saying that I regret it, just that sold dealer info may have steered me in another direction).
While the bikes are basically the bikes (whether it's a Qlink purchased from a dealer out of CA or NC, it's still a Qlink), the difference seems to be with the dealers themselves. Thinks like liftgate fees, residential delivery, issues with getting the MSO, damage to the bike when received, how that was handled...etc.
The other issue seems to be warrenties. It seems like most of them are pretty much useless when it comes to purchasing from an online dealer. I'm in Vermont, I have serious doubts as to whether or not an online dealer in CA, TX, NC or anywhere else is going to fix a problem that I have.
So, do you just roll the dice and hope for the best?

Yes it is pretty much a roll of the dice. Over the years we have heard a lot of good things about a dealer, then a while later the same dealer has a lot of complaints. A few have been fairly consistant but i don't think I know of one that has no complaints.
