My brother in law and wife, went to Tennessee this past week end, on their Goldwing. It weighs 1500 lbs. with their weight, luggage and bike.. They made it to Missouri, just outside Kingdom City just outside their home in Columbia. He had the tire changed on the back and evidently the beded wasn't good and the tire blew out at 70 mph.. The Goldwing fishtailed and Jerry riding Goldwings all his life, controlled it, but when riding off Interstate 70, he ran over them holes that awake sleepy drivers- crashed at 45 mph.. Him and his wife got major road burn from the payment. Jerry was wearing a half helmet and fell face first- scraped up chin and nose. He just removed his gloves because the sun popped out and he was hot. Hands all bandaged up. His wife hurt her neck, broke colar bone and less cuts. It make me aware of the protective gear I wear.. That it is important to wear protective gear.

First, I'm glad that they are going to be okay.
I agree 100%, hot, cold, whatever, you NEED to wear your gear.

Ya, it is 93 degrees out and I need to buy a light grey mesh jacket that has protection for spine, elbows, and shoulders.

Very sad to read this, i pray they heal well.
Don't laugh, the best thing for road rash is "vicks vapor rub", the campher kills the pain and germs, the petroleum jelly makes skin heal 1 and 1/2 faster according to FDA then plain disinfectant.
this is a great burn medicine too.

I'd expect vapo rub to burn like heck on a road rash. Try it in small areas first.
