How do I check the timing on my GY6 Scooter?

I am wanting to check the timing on my scooter,can anyone tell me how to do this?I have a normal
timing light for my race car,so I know that the one lead goes to the plug,and the other to a 12v source,
so where on the flywheel should I be looking for any increments to tell where it is at,and what should a 49cc to a BBK 80cc be set at.I have read you can slot the pickup to move the timing in a thread a while back,so

Just got it timed,just hooked up my timing light to the positive and neg.just like a car and the other over after the coil,and pulled the plastic cover off the flywheel side,the side with the stator in it, and the light started to flicker just fine,it came up as right on the first line past the "F" on the side of the flywheel to all who would like to know how to check yours.Pretty simple,3 eight mm bolts and the plastic over comes right off,just make sure and tighten the one that holds the splash guard for the rear tire,as it will hit the tire if not up and tightened up.
