I didn't see anyone call you an idiot. We are not there, so we can not see exactly what you are dealing with. We are just trying to help you.
I asked the question before and did not see an answer, IF you saw that you had 3/16 inch space between the top of the piston and the top of the jug, why would you go any further? At that point I would have pulled it back out and compared the pistons. Then contacted Scrappydog with the results. You keep saying that is the problem. Well, if that is the problem then tear the engine back down and take measurements of the new piston and old piston pin height. You say you have calipers. That would be the end of the issue. Take pictures to show us what you are saying is in fact correct. A picture of just the piston height in the jug won't do any good. You need to narrow it down.
I am not picking on you, calling you an idiot or saying you do not know what you are talking about or doing. Just trying to help and give you advice.
Jim

Well it has been over a week now and no new post. He must have figured out what he did wrong. Would be nice if he would have told us what he found if indeed it is running.

Back again now that I finally got a adaptor for my Compression tester, good luck in finding one if ya,all need to use one,as it took me 3 different times to get the correct one sent to me from a company, that is why I have not posted anymore info, now I have low CR reading of like around 90psi., I am told that it should be around 90 to run,and about 110-120 at best in perfect order,?So I guess I tear it down now and start over with checking everything I now have learned about these little engines for sure.Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jason

Jim, Thanks for your help man,as the post above mine said something about checking for torn gaskets?rather than taking it apart and analyzing them for a "tear/blown?etc.Also once I take the head off again the piston should rise to the TDC and the piston should not be down in the cylinder at all what so ever correct?as the stock one did come all the way up to the top of the cylinder wall.If it does not then I know I have a wrong piston, but my bet is on the cam gear not being exactly, but man I swear I had it braced and secured on both sides on TDC but today I will know what is wrong for sure will post pics of both the stock piston and the new 72cc one that came with the BBK.Thanks for all and any ones help. Thanks, Jason/gy6forlife found a super new site for parts that was very helpful in getting me my adaptor and they sell a bbk 80cc with head and larger valves, springs, all installed w/a new upgraded cam and piston, pin,c clips, rings, jug ,gaskets etc at scooter-atvparts dot com, cheap 54.99 !!!!!! Tell em Jason sent ya

It is hard to believe but if you put a high compression piston in there and used the old stock head, the compression may have increased enough to stretch that timing chain, I have heard of it happening once before, just once though.

54.00 bucks!!be careful... you get what you pay for!!!!!!! just saying some of that ebay stuff is a scam....and you cant get a hold of them when some-thing is wrong!! This is a web site I found using Amazon, and it came up,just thought I would put it out there,?Hell of a deal,I even called to make sure the cam was included as it was not in the picture and she said yes you can choose the one your want from like three? FYI Jason, I have made a TDC tool "to hold the engine at TDC while making sure that while I get he cam lined up that it has no way of moving on me "this time"?I now have a piston that is 1.5mm from the top dead center, and this link www.49ccscoot.com/bbk.html is the exact same amount from the looks of it that my is now.Does anyone know who has thin metal/aluminum head gaskets for a 50-72cc bbk?The Scrappy sent is very thick and I would rather have a thinner one to get a little more Compression out of the little engine?Any one got one?I am in need of it pretty bad,it is the only thing now from me putting it all back to gether and see if I was able to fix it or not? Thanks for all input, Jason Should I be woried about the lines on the cam bearing seats?and on the rocker arms show some little wear marks as well,it would only let post 3 pics so ?I can feel them with my finger nail on the rockers ,it has 12K miles on it,so? Thanks.

just take a little polishing compound and you should rub them out..that is mostly caused by over rev...

That looks like a lot of space to have at the top dead center of stroke for the piston. It really needs to be flush with the cylinder in my opinion. I'd take it back off and compare with the stock piston for distance from the wrist pin to the top of the piston. First of all you could be giving up almost as much displacement as you think that you are gaining and a loss of compression as well.

MO<The TECH,at Scrappy just finally emailed me back and said that it is just fine? He said he went and looked at one that had the head off and it was the same as what I was showing him how mine had turned out,so now I need a place to sell me a 80cc head gasket and a exhaust doughnut gasket for it. Ask John, 347-564-1320
I think he get $1.00 for the exhaust gasket, don't know what he wants for the head gasket, or if he has it in stock. He is pretty good to deal with. tvnacman is his screen name.
