Hi all, Today i installed an electric fuel pump today. 4-7 psi and used a fuel regulator with it. Set the regulator to 2 psi. Wasn't running great. Plugged the vacuum hose that went to the petcock and sounded good. After that and revving it on the stand the bike would conk out. Turned up the idle speed, ran for a little bit conked out again but when i gave it throttle while it was running the tire would not spin. Unfortunately i think i might of revved it while rear break was on. Now i can not get it to start at all.
My plan of attack will be tomorrow, buy cheap fuel line and run it directly to see if it the electric fuel pump. I hope that is what it is. If it is i will test pump by running it and seeing if gas coming out. There is not kinks in line btw.
I wonder when reving bike if i broke the belt when i had break on. Stupid me forgot i was holding the break. (my bike is torn down, no front tire or front head lights)
I think it is fuel issue. I am wonder if i put too much pressure and the float tore or something.
Any help be appreciated. Guess i will not be putting up how to upgrade to electric fuel pump tonight lol
Must get mine running first!! lol
Thanks Ray

Well you can put power to the fuel pump and see if it pumps gas out, just don't make a mess. Can you tell us what it is doing, like is it cranking, does it have spark, or is it just dead.

Since the mod was to switch to an electric fuel pump, and nothing else, I'd start there, make sure it has power and see if it is pumping. A wire might be loose and just giving power part of the time.

Well it was the regulator. Go figure i hope they will allow a return. Fuel pump works great but the regulator will not allow anything through. They say do not over tighten, i might have i turn them till they where tight, which was all the way down.
I think i might of just got a bad one.
Thanks and will update tomorrow.

Replaced the fuel regulator today and everything works great. Too high psi i found out will stall out the bike. Once the guy who ghostrided my bike gets my body pannels back i will be able to test the difference at WOT.
Some other good news today, my led's arrived!!!! I will be posting how to make your own led's tail lights!!!
I tested my voltage, 12v dc for tail lights even when break pressed. It doen't ever go to A/c right?
Well hope to show off my custom lights soon!!

Persistance Ray... will either see you through, or make an ole man outta ya. Glad you got through this one, cause I'm gonna tell ya, faulty NEW parts are seldom on the top of my diagnostics list....I'd have had you reaching round you elbow to scratch your ass on that one!
In other words...everything I'd have come up with, would have been WRONG! LOL. You'd have been pissed, I'd have gotten confused, the Doc would have started prescribing for you, me, or both of us....and it'd still be down....LMAO> but hey....if the scripts were good....who'd care, at least for another day or so. Speaking of scripts....I think I hear my daily glass of medicinal Port callling....
Can't wait to see those lights man!

Has anybody tried a high volume fuel with the carb feeding off of a tee with the other side of the tee dumping the fuel back in to the tank via a fuel return line?

The tee with an open side going back to the tank would make the pressure drop to pretty much zero. You would need to put some kind of restricting device on it to get any fuel into the carb.
