GOD MADE MEN BIG AND SMALL, BUT SMITH AND WESSON MADE THEM EQUAL I hate guns and even further dislike the imagery that go's thru a persons mind from just holding one and facing the idea of having to shot someone in self defense.
But a real necessary thing to own these days.
Having done some real mean work with crime victims and working at the NRA, I highly recommend only auto loader guns with a droping lock barrel, impossible to jam, Beretta 9 mm being my favorite.
hammer-less 38's like that above was what i used to get the rape victims to buy i worked with.
but with a first shot a dum dum and all the rest Glaser's safety slugs, about which there is very little safety for the recipient of one.
I think the lack of a hammer weight makes them retain their aim better on firing i believe.
but above all else i like kindness and affection between all people, which takes the highest order of maturity and education, which is the most manly art of all, and a big part of the NRA
One thing that never translates off the NRA image, is the warmth and comradely that those folks promote.
And I know folks will read this and not believe me, but many of those folks had massive art collections, which simply amazed me.
Even more amazing, gratitude and sympathy for the plight of the native americans, i never knew just what a holocost we put on them till a NRA collector gave me 3 whiskeys by the fire one night and told me.
Often when i was there, some one would show a sick attitude about gun ownership, that sort became a real black sheep quick and asked to move on.
I can tell so many story's about some of the warmest and most hospitable folks I met and was changed by, simply some of the most gentle folks i ever met.
hope you wore very good ear muff with foam plugs
and shoot out doors, where there is a wind to blow off the arosol of lead which can be breathed.
PLUNKER"S are a barrel of fun, that one looks as one of the best.
BAGGA you are a trip, never change fella!

My, my, the venerable S&W Centennial has come a long way over the decades! That is one sweet revolver!
Being a .22 you can afford to shoot it enough to get "good" with it... LOL! Great for fun-shooting, but with the best hyper-velocity rounds, it still is effective enough to get a miscreant's attention!
Shoot safe, and ENJOY!
Leo in Texas
PS: Yup, NRA folks are generally friendly and really decent. And agreed that the best way to survive a shootout is to avoid it... But sometimes you just cannot. That's when the practice pays off.
Just for the record, I don't hate GUNS, I really like all the design and workmanship they encompass... It's the doggone BULLETS that bother me... LOL!

when i start thinking we need more 2 wheelers or more equipment like this and i run it by my wife i never hear, "we don't need that". last week i mentioned "i'm looking for an old honda cub". she just laughed. that would take it to 7 bikes. motorcycles drive me crazy.....i can't help it.

I wanna pick the circuit judge kit that comes with the 22 & 22 magnum cylinders for plinking. My girl may give me grief over my toys but she loves that gun & wants it for herself. So when extra cash is around after I pick up my TV this will be next toy for her. Then I'll pick up an AR-15 & 22 conversion kit for me

SUPERDAVEmy dad, gave me a single shot 22 rifle as a kid, he was a gun smith part time gold inlays of ducks flying across a barrel and such. he sanded down the ejector pin so it would not work and would take me 5 minutes to get each empty shell out, the guys with him would always laugh as i went to look for a stick to get the empty shell out.
it was ten years after his death till i realized why he had done this to a seven year old.
I would give my right arm to have 5 mins talk with him now.
do they still sell 22's cheap and charge a bunch for the bullets?

525 rounds here in green bay are going for $16-$20. depending on the brand. some semi autos are kind of finicky on the ammo they shoot. revolvers like any kind.

Been awhile since I bought bulk .22 but looks like Bagga's price range is right on & only a few bucks more than what I remember paying as a kid. But it is def cheaper than popping .410 & .223/5.56 all day.

On a side note my Judge hates the cheap .410 rounds & will not cycle well w/ them. Pounds the good rounds no problem tho like Bagga said usually seems a trait of the semi-autos. But what can I say it's a snob & only wants to put the best lead into the next shmuck dumb enough to enter my home w/ ill intentions.
