Ok,the stats I have a 2012 Tao Tao GY6 50cc with 1P39QMB Tall Head stock with the Longer 69mm Valves 50mm BBK Perf Exhaust (good One) Perf Variator with 6 gram sliders Racing CDI & Coil Iridium Clutch with Yellow 1.5 K springs (both Sets) Bando 669-18-30 19mm CV Carb with 88 Main 35 Pilot Jets
All is under 800 miles Bike has been running great now when I give it gas it want to die. I can Blip the throttle spraying fuel with the internal accelerator pump and git it moving but not acting right. I put a stock carb off of another bike (an EPA stocker for a 50cc) and it runs fine.well kinda, but the carb is the problem. It was working fine, the nest time I started it (same day) it was doing this. Could a diaphram do this, blocked main jet? What should I be looking for, electric choke faulty, its just not getting gas from the carb to the cylinder, everything else fuel, vacuum, petcock ect, is fine, like i said stock card it runs,so what could instantly make it do this, good filters, good fuel ect. Thanks,Vegas

The stock carb should be way too lean for a 50mm BBK. It could be a leak in the diaphragm, sounds like you may be sucking too much air. Recheck valve clearances and look for cracked hoses or intake manifold.
The problem with modded scooters is if you do all the mods at one time you just don't know witch one caused the problem.

Thamks for the quick reply. Like I said, its been running great. I turned it off,the 10 minutes later turned it on and it started doing it. I cant find any issues with the diaphram other than a small hole between the center needle and the outer wall of the rubber cylinder is so perfect it looks as though its supposed to be there, its not a puncture kind of hole. I dont have anything to compare it to. I will double check the float level. One thing, when I was riding it yesterday at about 85% maybe 40mph for a quick second it did the "blahhhh" for about a second,I backed instantly off the throttle and then applied gradual back up to about 60% and went the rest of the way home about a mile,I thought perhaps electrical but the other carb eliminates that theory .Its carb choke or internals. I know the other one is not good for the bike,it was a 2 minute test to verify the issue. I will continue to clean it out, swap the choke from the epa carb, replace all the vacuum & fuel lines, and make sure all the little hose clips are good and tight. Thanks,Vegas

Choke tested good @ 17 ohms, supposed to be between 10-20. When I hook it to 12vdc and set it on is side, lining up the tip of the choke needle with the end of a tape measure right next to it,I see no change in the position of the needle over 10 minutes or so,none. Does that mean its not working or it doesnt move unless it is at a cool temp? It was 110 in the garage yesterday... Now to top it off,i was running around at 2am trying to find a piece of solid core wire to clean the pilot jet,and guess what,I must of set it down somewhere really obscure, because the entire family has been searching for it since 7:30 this morning...Ahhhhhhh Vegas

Oh no, that won't do.
Was it a clogged jet? in as you could see gunk in there? If so you after you find it or replace it and if the problem still exists. That perfect hole in the diaphragm try putting a little silicone on it to cover it up for a test, do it on the top side so it does not fall down. I don't think silicone will bind permanently to the rubber. It that fixes it you know you need a new diaphragm.

when i attached my auto choke to the battery 12v after about 3 or 4 mins it extended atleast 1\8th inch the needle itself doesnot extend the plastic piece the needle protrudes from extends the needle it self should also move in and out of the plastic piese meaning if you press on the needle it should slide into the plastic slightly and spring out when you let go hopew this helps wish i had a decent cam i would take a pic

yes i do the big valve heads for scrappy. more air you feed it the more gas it need's. and yes i have a flow bench. but i only use it when i experiment on different air flowing. there has allway's been a debate about the polishing some do it some say that it dont help. it's about 1 to 2 percent different's. giving the polished head the 1-2 percent. so i polish them i have for years and will continue to. glad to here your happy....thanks....rocky88
