I have a 83 blue 180xc that I was told would just take a carb cleaning to
get going when I got it last year. I have done it twice and still cant get it
going. The last time, a week ago, we put in a Sigma jet kit to upgrade the
performance too. It is that ice blue color and cosmetics are excellent. Frame
looks showroom mint. I ruined the battery and now to get it going I would have
to invest that plus it will need at least one tire . It only has 2 or 3 thousand
miles on it. Also has larger , heavier rear rack that accommodated a trunk at
one time for the previous owner. PLUS, I have parts up the wazoo because I have
a second one , an 84 180xc in black with a few less miles but in rougher shape.
Both are stored indoors in Boston, Ma. Everything worked on the blue one when it
had a good battery but a couple lights are broken on the parts bike, the black
one. I have keys and title for the good one and just key for the parts one.
> This is a rare opportunity for real Riva lovers. Get a nearly mint one and
a spare with virtually all the parts that are so hard to find. I could probably
part them out and make a mint but I don't want to fill the premises with
scattered parts. The seat on the good one is perfect too plus I have an extra
seat to throw in. Also have service manual and owners manual. The plastics on
the black one are dull and there are some breaks etc but the blue one is still
glossy.
> The carb is definitely getting gas now, the tank is and was pristine
inside, the plug is getting spark and it will crank as long you try with a good
battery. A couple days ago it caught but just for a split second. I am hoping
for a local sale but there is a possibility of shipping them if the buyer hires
a company to come and get them and do all the crating and prep etc., which I
won't do.
> I would much prefer to get it running and keep it but my patience and skills
or lack of same have reached their limits.
> I will sell both as a package deal for $1300.00 . I will also entertain any
trade offers for a scooter or two that is rideable on delivery or combinations
with cash and scooter or virtually anything.

> I also have a 2001 Yamaha Vino 50 with the 2
stroke available as a project bike. I have not looked inside it but because it
takes off so fast, I suspect it has had some mods or maybe it is one of those
50's that is really a 63cc. It needs virtually all the plastics and both the
kick stand and the center stand but it starts instantly and runs strong. I was
thinking of making a Ruckus or Zoomer style scooter but changed my mind. I will
sell it for $500.
