looks like you are missing a couple of parts looks like there should be a lower bracket on the tracter and then some bracket to mount it to the lower bracket

Thanks, that one looks like something that would not be horrible to fabricate.

no that shouldnt be hard its just trying to find what that attaches to on the tiller
the other thing i wish i could see on the tillers is what way that bracket sits i wonder if it should be on the other way so that the linkage can attach to raise and lower the tiller

You may have solved some of the problem with that last photo, looks like a sleeve hitch and on the right side of it looks like the end of the rod in the photo of those spare parts. Perhaps the long handle bolts down and the rod goes from it to the hitch to lift and lower what is on the sleeve hitch.

there has got to be a way around it, even if it means more fabrication

I need to go out there and whack on it with a hammer, I might just have that out of production mounting piece, it just may be frozen out of position., be back in a few.

Don't sweat it too much, you have been a great help. I've searched the web for a couple days and posted on a couple Lawn/Garden tractor forums asking about it and they have mostly not been any help, I think we have the hitch part figured out. Now I have to start getting info on the PTO set up, I looked under there and have not yet seen anything obvious.
I think I'm going to get in touch with Ted in Bakersfield and see if he wouldn't mind helping with fabricating a hitch, my welder is not rated to handle 3/8 inch steel and he is a much better welder than I am.
