I know its not a scooter but it has a scooter motor and pretty much the same wiring. Anyone know what the resistor hooks to and what color the wires might be? I had to get a wiring harness at the junkyard and it wasnt from the exact same model so it is slightly different plus some stuff is missing I have almost everything wired back up and the kickstart will crank the engine and the killswitch works but I cant get the electric start or battery/charging system to work since i cant figure out where the resistor hooks in at. If nothing else the starter relay should click if everything is plugged in right but nothing. Any help would be appreciated

I'm trying to figure that out too.. or if I need one.. They say some scooters come with resistors for their headlights, and some don't. Oh, if ya got electric choke/enricher on yer carburetor, make sure that plug isn't switched with the solenoid/relay... alot of times, those two connectors are identical, and it wont even attempt to crank if they're switched.

The resisitor is for the battery/charging system, everything else works that I know of and got the thing running good with the kickstart just no electric start and the battery leads wont even spark when i rub them on the battery. The resistor completes the circuit somehow

I honestly don't know about the resistor.. Ain't one on my scooter, unless it would be around the stator/rotor. Have ya tried charging the battery and bridging the two terminals on the solenoid with a screwdriver to see if it'll do anything?

So the battery is good and the starter? Just not charging the battery?

it doesnt have a kickstand its a 4 wheeler the killswitch on the controls works. At any rate I got it running, I had to replace the entire harness and replace the piston and adjust the valves, clean the carb, replace the bystarter. It was a complete mess but it runs now so i told the guy he would have to figure out where the resistor goes and dont ride it till he gets an exhaust. I told him if he tears it up running without an exhaust dont bring it back to me lol
