ignition timing on a china scoot need to be advanced for a more serious attempt a making power. the plug and play racing ignition picturedhas an advance curve programed into it But i think it needs initial advance eg 7%btdc I have been known to slot the holes on the picck up to advance it Attachments:

You took the slot a bit beyond the metal there. Advancing the timing is one way to get a bit more power but you might need to go to a higher octane fuel.

yes Rebel it runs best on 98 octane I assume this engine is like the 4 speed and the earth wire from the pick up does double duty as its the only earth wire that grounds the stator mountplate which must get hot and increase resistance big time So like on my 4 speeds I will reroute the blue and the green wire from under the flywheel where its hot and time will toast it Well sounds easy Attachments:

OK,newbie here,Hello to all you on here needing some much needed help with my 2007 VIP future champion scooter.I am a gear head so as I drag race my race car as a hobby. I had the power-washer out and figured "why not wash the scooter"/So I did and now 5 days later it wont start, nor has any spark?I did get a new "Racing CDI and Coil"deal, and when I crank it over the led does flicker with the turn of the engine via the starter.BUT NO SPARK?Changed out 3 different coils,2 different plugs, and still I have got no spark at the plug? Can anyone know what else to check or replace other than whole scooter lol. Wel ome. replacing the scooter will work. To save a few bucks do you still have the stock cdi?. It is possible that using a pressure washer you ruined the cdi. I'd start with putting the stock one back in and seeing if that helped.
Oh did you check the kill switch?

OK,I am Jason, would you please take a set of digital calipers and measure the timing tab on the flywheel for me,as it looks the exact same and I did to put one of them exact six pin blue racing CDI box on my gy56 50cc china scoot.and now it wont hardly rev past 8K,stock with obvious o rev limiter went 12-14Kand for 35 mph.?Why would a performance ignition kill my top end so bad if it is the best there is? Very 'serious' jts See the size of that timing tab on that mini chopper flywheel in the previous post It wont fit my scoot

Those performance cdi's are not all created equal.find on that lets you manually adjust them.
