i have a people 150 and decided to upgrade to a new variator and clutch springs and I got the variator nut off but I can't get the clutch off. Not the big nut, I can't get the 17mm nut that holds the clutch on. I've tried jamming the rear brake as I saw in a youtube vid but it didn't work, any advice?

Welcome,
You need a spanner wrench to hold it still so you can brake the nut loose. Or you can use a power impact driver to remove it.
The spanner can be made from a board, piece of plywood or you can make it with a couple pieces of metal.

did a quick sketch for you, the bolts need to go into the holes on the variator so you can hold it still to loosen the 17mm nut. Attachments:
