MEANINGFUL STUFF THANKS TERRI LEE
I have felt that world he describes and it burns a hole in you.
But i do my best to fill it with love from many sources.
Reminding me "we are alone,,,,but never alone"
Wander This World Lyrics
The tar in the street starts to melt from the heat And the sweats runnin' down from my hair I walked 20 miles and I'm dragging my feet And I'll walk 20 more I don't care
And I'll wander this world, wander this world Wander this world, wander this world all alone
I'm like a ghost some people can't see Others drive by and stare A shadow that drifts by the side of the road It's like I'm not even there
And I'll wander this world, wander this world Wander this world, wander this world all alone
Well I've never been part of the game The life that I live is my own All that I know is that I was born To wander this world all alone, all alone
Some people are born with their lives all laid out And all their success is assured Some people work hard all their lives for nothin' They take it and don't say a word They don't say a word
Sometimes it's like I don't even exist Even God has lost track of my soul Why else would he leave me out here like this To wander this world all alone
And I'll wander this world, wander this world Wander this world, wander this world all alone

It speaks to me.
Sometimes people wander all alone by choice Sometimes they have no choice but to be alone

It speaks to me. Sometimes people wander all alone by choice Sometimes they have no choice but to be alone[/quote) I am certain i will read nothing today more interesting then your words here Doug.
One must think about the child who knows the truth behind the closed doors of their home.
Or someone wise before their years, like a teenager growing up in Berlin 1939.
Before i left the big city's, I had no idea how rampant poverty in our society was and more so the causes of that poverty, In my travels I have often seen a lone child or teenager playing and walking alone, I wonder the difference between their outside worlds and the inside one at home, school and church.
a few years back, I was traveling thru a small town way way south of new york, the main street was 300 ft long, the best designed building was the post office, there was a shop that said "Town of ______ Renewal Committee", there was dust on the windows, trash on the floor, a desk pushed sideways and so help me god the train tracks went right thru the middle of the street.
I walked into a very antique and rural drugstore, put a box of band aids on the counter with a credit card, The clerk about 17, was in a long dress, and looked like she walked out of a 1940's movie, she said "we are just a small town pharmacy, we don't take credit cards, if you don't have cash you can take these if you need them and come back latter and pay for em ".
I told her i had cash, and payed for the band-aids, I talked to her about the town, she said the main work of late was cutting down trees to be sold for fiber board, she said her dad was the pharmacist, and he had passed away, her and her mom were running things hoping some one would fill his job cause they had all the prescription medicine still (?), sort of stunned i went out to my SUV and for some reason or other started to clean it out, bundling trash under my arm, this piled up quick and with it all under my arm i went back in the drug store and asked for trash bags, one of the newspapers under my arm was the "New York Times Review of Books" I gave it to her and said you should read this and everyone of them you can get your hands on. she asked why, and i told her "so you can know the world and where you stand in it".
About a month latter i came back thru the same town, stayed at the same hotel and went to the library to read papers, and use the net, just before leaving i asked if they had the NY Times review of books, and the lady told me they did but that one of their students had come the week before and took all the old copy's, the librarian told me if i really needed them for research she could get them back from the girl at the pharmacy, who had insisted she needed them all.
When i get stunned, I am one of those folks who talks a lot for no reason, I asked how the pharmacy was doing, and the librarian told me, the owner had died not long ago, it had been sold to someone who was gonna change it to a hardware store and the other owner was gonna retire.
I knew some how I was seeing something that had to do with hope, alone-ness and bravery, latter I went by the drug store but it was closed and the next day I left town.
I have wondered about this little thing I saw while traveling for a long time.
No sisters, no brothers, I hope she made it to where ever she was heading.
God speed and protect the lone traveler.
