Hello every one my name is Dorian I reside in Deltona Florida and I just got a 2008 Jonway yy150 t2 to commute to work on and also for fun. Don't know much about scooter maintenance but learning, thanks to all the forums and helpful people. Any and all advice its welcome. Also would love to link up with those that live breath and bleed scooter knowledge. I'm thinking a scooter will be my main transportation for the rest of my life. Between gas millage and just overallfun you can't beat it. Anybody in the Volusia county Florida who likes to ride maintain and work on scooters and don't mind taking on a Newbie as an apprentice, reach out and let's build the scooter scene in our area Attachments:

a thousands hellos Dorian
you seem to have a great attitude about bikes.
fear them, respect them and love them and they will return the favor.
I am sure "rebel" with get with you here soon, he knows a world full and runs the most civil forum in the world here.
plus he puts up with me.
there are some threads made by a fella named cliff here, they are a wild ride to read.
Enjoy!.
ride safe ride wise.

Welcome
Hope you enjoy your scooter. You have to remember that these Chinese scooters are great fun, but require owners that don't mind getting a little grease on their hands every once in a while to keep them going. If you have a problem and want some advise we have members that will be willing to offer directions to go. The good thing is that even if you are not near a dealer that stocks parts you can order them off the internet at reasonable prices. For a person that is using his scooter as a daily main transportation you might want to keep mods for performance at a mild level. One fellow I know like to sat, "the faster they go, the faster they blow". Your 150 should be able to get up into the mid 50 mph or even low 60's but it is best to ride it where you motor is comfortable most of the time, like under 50mph.
Welcome again.

HI & WELCOME
way to south for me, but the www. makes things easy except for ACTUAL CONTACT.
i am NOT a mech but i sometimes say really silly sh&t, & it it turns out thats what was wrong. { on other forums} thats whats really weird, unless ur actually touching a scoot, its hard to diagnose from across the world.

Thanks for the welcome everyone...I'm lucky enough to be in the area of several scooter dealers and repair shops that sale parts...basically I'm gonna keep the bike stock but I want to change out hoses spark plug and put a better looking exhaust on it. I bought this bike used a month ago with 3800 miles on it and I have already put 900 on it. Have changed my oil and gear oil twice already and so far no probs. Thinking I should do a valve adjustment but not sure if its needed yet.
