A few days ago I was riding home from work and the scooter just would not stay running when at a stop. When I got home I put the bike on the side stand, went inside, had dinner and later came out to troubleshoot my scooter. Forgetting it was only on the side stand (as opposed to the CENTER stand!) I cranked her up and gave her a good healthy rev.... right into the porch. OUCH. Honestly I thought it would have been worse. I heard plastic shattering and babies crying. I tried to post a pic but it was dark and I didn't feel like getting my (regular) camera out. My phone has no flash. I superglued the 2 large pieces back together, and a few small pieces were just shattered beyond repair. From there I clear siliconed the turn signal housing back into place along the edges from the inside (the tabs broke off but the light and housing were still intact). The next 2 days it was raining and I rode like normal and here it is 3 days later, still intact. One glued portion is undetectable but another is... but I'm not complaining. I bought it as a tool and a toy, not for a beauty pageant. PS. I am even more satisfied with buying a cheap Chinese scooter now. I want a motorcycle but until I can afford one, this will serve well as a trainer... learning the ropes and getting the stupid noob mistakes out of the way on this as opposed to a shiny chromed out V-Star.

The gas issue was resolved right away. I went straight for the fuel filter. I did some of my PDI when I bought the scooter, but I bought it locally, ready to ride so to speak so the first day I changed the fluids and the spark plug. I had the filter and fuel / vacuum lines but was gonna wait till I had more time to do this. The crappy original fuel filter was still on the bike. Fortunately I was able to replace it in about 2 minutes. I was accessible from the bottom w/out having to remove the storage bin under the seat. OLD: NEW:

I wouldn't bother Rich for one of his used tupperware pieces when you can get a new one pretty cheap from Scooterelements(or could at one time). For this little blemish... I won't spend a dime on it. Well maybe a dime. I might see if I can find some blue duct tape to cover the hole. It's really not a big deal. It's not that noticeable unless you're up close. I am losing no sleep over it. PS: Stop insulting Tupperware. Tupperware is resilient, strong and durable. This stuff is hard and brittle. I have some Tupperware from 20 yrs ago, used every day, and a few pieces my mom gave me before that!
